Hello hello hello
I don't actually have anymore edits because just before the start of December, I dropped my phone in a sink... full of water.
*shamefully covers face* I'm sorry!
So anyway I hoped January was better for you than it was for me and enjoy the chapter! 💗"And I can be assured that you and Mr. Potter will get this done?" Professor Dumbledore sat opposite Lily, who looked tiny compared to him at the moment.
"Yes sir. And I'm... um I'm sorry that James couldn't make it tonight." She said politely.
"He'll have his reasons." Dumbledore winked.
"Thank you, Professor." Lily smiled and rose from her chair, leaving the room.
<>
"Are you okay?" Lily quickly scrambled up from the sofa in the heads common room when she heard James come in.
"Just a few cuts and bruises is all, it wasn't that bad tonight, we managed to keep him under control." James ran his hand through his hair in relief that his months work was over.
With it being the end of the month, Remus, quite obviously, had transformed. And James had to miss a meeting with Dumbledore. Which he had now suddenly remembered.
"So how was the meeting?" He asked her, as she pulled him into a warm and comforting hug as she knew he had had a rough night.
"Dumbledore wants us to organise a Christmas ball. It'll be two days before the Christmas holidays. So we have two weeks to get everything done." She said, soothingly rubbing his back.
"A Christmas ball." James mumbled.
"I think it'll be quite fun." Lily pulled out of the hug and held both of his hands. "Besides, it can be like... a third date for us." She grinned.
"Yeah." He pulled her back into a hug, really needing her comfort.
"Are you okay?" She asked him, nuzzling his neck.
"Not really. I think I'm going to sleep down here tonight on the sofa. I'm not feeling to good and it will be less of a journey if I need to get to the hospital wing." He grumbled.
"I'm not letting you stay down here on your own if you're feeling ill then." She spoke into his neck. "I'll stay down here with you." She kissed his neck and pulled out of the hug, leading them to the sofa.
"Lils, you need a good nights sleep. Go up to your dorm and sleep." James blinked hard, trying to stay awake and wearily pointed to Lily's dorm.
"Fine. Then you're coming with me." She raised her eyebrows at him and lead him towards the stairs before he stopped her.
"No, Lily." He moaned, throwing his head back.
"Then I'm staying down here. Do you want me to stay down here or not?" She pulled his hand upward and interlocked it with hers.
"Of course I do. But I don't want to keep you from a good nights sleep. We have classes tomorrow." He groaned, lying down on the sofa.
"James Potter. You listen to me. I'm the big spoon tonight so I'm going to take care of you. Okay?" She lead down next to him, wrapping her arms around his neck and pulling him into her chest. He put his arms around her waist and tilted his head so he could see her.
"Why are you always right?" He grumbled into her chest, slowly falling asleep. She could see this, and soothingly ran her hands through his hair.
And steadily, they both fell asleep.

"Morning." James sat down next to Remus, opposite Sirius.
"G' morning." Remus mumbled, fiercely stabbing a piece of toast with his fork.
"You okay after last night?" James asked.
"If you call tired, grumpy and aching okay, then I'm swell." Remus smiled sarcastically.
"Moons don't get all grumpy pants with me." James raised his eyebrows.
"Sorry." He put his head down, not looking at anything else but the table.
"S'okay Remmy. We know it's tough." Sirius encouragingly smiled at Remus, making him smile back. But Sirius' smile seemed... Fake. Like he was... Broken.
James looked at Sirius which he understood as 'talk to me now' and nodded.
"Um... I'd better go." Sirius said, jumping from the table and stumbled off.
"I'd better go and see what's up with him. See you in charms Moony." James patted Remus' back and followed Sirius out of the great hall.
<>
"What's up with you?" James asked, sitting down next to Sirius in the astronomy tower.
"Girls." He huffed.
"You've never had a problem with girls before." James frowned.
"Well, girl." And with that, James understood.
"What happened?" James asked, they would usually joke, but serious conversations would weave their way into their relationship now and then.
"We were arguing last night, and he came up. Remus came up." Sirius stated, bowing his head downwards. "She thought... You know... We still had 'a thing'. But it like ended in 5th year. So..."
"So tell her that. Mate, she must be-"
"Don't you say it." A smile played at his lips.
"But I wanna say it."
"Don't say it."
"THE ONE." James dramatically put his hands up in the air and looked upwards. Which then made Sirius smile widely. Which made James happy, as he had now cheered his friend up. "But in all seriousness, go get your girl."
"I will!" Sirius stood up and stuck his chest out proudly. "And you will too because you kinda look like a loner now. BYE!" Sirius blew kisses and ran out of the tower, off to find Marlene.

"Hey Lils!" James waved at Lily and walked over to her, her head hung down.
"Oh, hi James." She said quietly.
"So I was thinking-" he started.
"Sorry, but I really have to go." She finally looked up at him before walking off in a rush towards the library.
James was confused. This wasn't like Lily. Her bubbly personality seemed to have... faded slightly. She hadn't really been to the library since her and James got together. She was always comfortable studying in their common room.
I mean, they we're find just the night before. She was comforting him and being all sweet and adorable. So what had changed since then?
Had someone done something to her? What if she was cheating on him? What if she just didn't like him anymore?
From that small conversation, James could make out that there was something seriously wrong with Lily.
Heads up huge cliché line coming here.
And he was going to find out what it was.
Told you.
