"No. No no no no no no no no. Padfoot?" Remus stumbled up, whispering.

"What?" He asked, brushing off some dust, dabbing some blood off of his arm.

"Where's Lily?" He stumbled around the room.

"Lily's here?!"

"She came last night when you weren't able to make it and she's under the floor!" He hissed, trying to pull up the floorboards.

Peter suddenly appeared, not knowing why they were pulling up the floorboards, but instinctively went to help.

"Lily- Flower!" Sirius said calmly, looking down on the bloody, unconscious Lily.

"Oh my god." Remus said, as they heaved her up onto the floor.

"She needs to go to the hospital wing." Peter said.

"Well no kidding. Let's go." Sirius picked up Lily, surprisingly she was as light as a feather.

"POPPY!" Sirius screamed.

"MR. BLACK! Do not shout, you'll wake everyone up- oh dear. Put her down here." Madam Pomphrey said, tending to Lily's wounds. "You boys sit down too, you look beaten up."

"Mate," Remus slowly shook a sleeping James as he started to stir.

"What Moony?" He sat up, rubbing his eyes.

"There's... there's something you need to see..." he pointed in Lily's direction.

James stumbled up from his bed in a matter of milliseconds, to face her. Unable to say anything, he let out a loud sigh and stroked her cheek with his thumb.

"I'm sorry I couldn't come." James said to Remus, "This never would have happened."

"It's okay." Remus patted James' back "There was no lasting damage done."

Madam Pomphrey spent the last hour patching up the three boys and checking on Lily every once in a while. She was still unconscious, but no longer bleeding.

Hours later, Lily's eyes slowly fluttered open, her blurry vision suddenly came clear enough to recognise that she was in the hospital wing. She felt a cut sting on her lip and was weak in her right arm. She sat up in her hospital bed, hearing pattering footsteps come through the hospital wing door.

"Lily!" James quickly spun and stumbled over to the side of her bed, sliding into a chair. "How are you? Are you okay? Are you hurt? Do you want me to get Poppy? Because I will if-"

"James I'm fine." She chuckled, suddenly noticing something. "Where's your sling?"

"Oh it came off a couple of hours ago." He said, flailing his arm about in the air, demonstrating that it was totally fine. She leaned forward and pulled his arm down from above his head. She couldn't help but smile at his ridiculously childish behaviour streaks. Though we must say, they are happening that less often. What if he was maturing? Becoming a better person? Lily's thoughts wandered, apparently too far, as James was repeatedly snapping his fingers in her face. "Lily? Lily? Are you okay?"

"What- oh, yeah, I'm okay." She blinked hard, taking everything in. I guess it's the first time she'd really noticed everything about him. The way he smiled at her, and the way he smiled at other girls was different. Smiling at other girls, she could see, was very fake. Whereas when he smiled at her, it was a genuine, warm smile that made her stomach do several backflips. The little things like he would run his finger against the rim of his glasses when he was nervous, or the fact that he breathes heavily when he sleeps. Not that she watches him sleep... because that would be creepy...
