Children came, children died, all of them at the hands of Asgore. Toriel left him after the first child was slaughtered. It was months, maybe even years before he amassed his sixth human soul. I tried to save them, but every time I was met with a reset of the timeline. It was almost as if the universe was consistently motivated to reach a certain state. I believed that the state the universe was desiring to obtain originated from the game I originally knew this world. Flowers grew on Asriel's grave. I would visit from time to time, paying my respects. I was a kind of neutral party between most monsters, serving as their messenger. There were love letters here, an apology there and never a shortage of mail for Sans. I would occasionally talk to him in person about the world and how I believed it functioned and he would usually give a sly remark about it. I would say hello to Alphys from time to time and introducing them to the various anime of my world. She also introduced me to some of her anime, but I did not understand this whole "magic of friendship" stuff that she was so enamored by. Undyne was pretty relaxed after the sixth child. Before that, though, she was constantly on edge, looking for the next human. She mellowed out a little after the sixth human was slain, but the thrill of the hunt remained. Papyrus was oddly missing during these times, saying something about meeting a friend. Toriel was alone most days, reading in her chair about various things. Asgore never left his castle, watering the flowers and sometimes having me come over to discuss matters of the Underground. When I did have time of my own, I spent it with Toriel. Something about her was warm to me. She was comforting and oddly understanding of how things are. It was definitely a long time since the sixth human had fallen. Maybe something was wrong? Would the catalyst for this world never come? Had Frisk fallen before they had reached the Underground? There was no knowing at this point and I believed that something had to be done.
