The journey to the barrier this time was quite a bit more worrying than the last time. Monsters saw my partly human soul and wanted to take it to break the barrier. I could have fought back, but that would probably have ended poorly. To be honest, it was kind of nice to have a change of pace compared to the last few years of doing nothing. It took a bit to translate two-dimensional video game attacks to three-dimensional maneuvers that I could use to dodge. Eventually I got it down, but I did take some hits here and there. Other than encounters, the walk was uneventful. Sure, I had to deal with puzzles, but I already knew the solutions. I had a friendly conversation with a couple skeletons. I had a weird friend date with the fish that reminded me of my aunt. The date with the lizard was, well, something. I cannot express how it was experiencing this. It was almost as if something had called me to be here and everything just clicked. It was if I belonged to this world. The laboratory deep below was fairly unnerving but I wasn't there for long. The elevator ride back up was rapid before arriving at the judgement hall. I entered to find that the skeleton was not there. One brisk walk later, and I was finally at the throne room. Asgore must be observing the barrier because he was not watering the flowers. A few fateful steps later, I arrive at the barrier. "So, this is how it must be." "Indeed. Just like a visit to the dentist." "It was nice meeting you, Azatiel, farewell."
