It had been a few weeks since I arrived at the underground. I helped plant some flowers where I fell, learned how to magically cook with fire and continued to teach Asriel about more forms of magic. It was his turn to water the flowers, but I decided to go with him. "Why are you coming with me? It's not that hard to water flowers." "Well, to be honest with you, I felt something odd a few minutes ago and thought that a walk would clear my head. Besides, I need the exercise." "Oh, all right." We walked through the ruins, saying hello to a monster or two on the way. Then, much to Asriel's surprise, there was a human child on the flower bed that he was supposed to water. "Oh, you've fallen down, haven't you? What's your name?" "Chara." The child responded. "Chara? That's a nice name. My name is Asriel Dreemurr. It's my pleasure to meet you." "Mine as well." I said. "My name is Azatiel Dragonheart and it is nice to see you doing well for someone who has fallen down." "C'mon now, Chara! Let's get you home so you can meet Mom and Dad!" "Oh, all right. Just let me get..." Chara stumbled a bit. "Oh! Let me help you!" Asriel used one of the miracles he had learned from me. "What? Why do I feel better all of a sudden?" "We can explain on the way home! C'mon!" Asriel then pulled Chara by the arm gently and started to walk home. I stayed for a moment, contemplating if the events that had been revealed to me through my game could be avoided. "Hey! Azzie! You coming?" "Yes Asriel, just a moment. I followed them home with a heavy heart, knowing inevitably what was to come. "Mom! Dad!" "Yes son?" They said in unison. "I found a new friend!" Chara gave a slight smile at this sentence. "My name is Chara, it's nice to meet you two." "This is Asgore, my dad, and this is Toriel, my mom." "Well Asgore, Toriel, I might be staying a while." "Longer than you might think, child..." Asgore looked down with a somber expression. "There is a barrier that keeps us here and nothing we know can break it. Although..." Asgore gives me a look. "Maybe Azatiel can help with that? He did say he knew of many powerful magics of other worlds. Maybe, just maybe, one can work." "Perhaps." I say. "But I don't know anything about the nature of this barrier. I don't know how I would break it in the first place." "Well, you can surely give it a shot. But for now, let's give our new guest some dinner." We all had a great dinner that night, however, I was nervous, not knowing what kind of character Chara was. I felt that they could be anything, from a savior who would stop a genocide to the one who would orchestrate it. I slept restlessly that night.
