It was going to be up to me to stop this. As the human walked, I flew. I flew silently yet swiftly to Snowdin town. I warned the monsters there of a human that had fallen and they were going to kill everyone. They had no reason to not believe me and fled further in. All of them fled except two skeletons. "Sans, Papyrus, what in the blazes are you two still doing here?" "Well, I hate to say it, but I still believe that there's some good in that human." Said Papyrus. "And I'm here to make sure it goes well, that, or I can get some burg." "Sans! Be serious!" Shouted Papyrus, a little louder than usual. "I am, don't worry about it." I left them to their squabbles and flew deeper into the cavern. I knew that the human would stop at nothing to satiate their curiosity. That, or it was some strange feeling that people can be freed from suffering through death. Probably the first one though, as Sans warped to the final corridor before the throne room. "Hey, kid, you know there's nothing you can do about it, right?" "I know, Sans, but I have to try, even if it means doing this song and dance for the rest of time." "Yeah, good luck with that, kid." And I never saw him again. I moved on to the throne room, warning Asgore of the incoming threat. He was shocked and prepared himself for the worst, and yet, never took the other human souls. Then, of all things that happened, Flowey came in and cried about this horrid monster that frightened him. I knew that this meant that the world was at its endgame. I slowly walked over to the barrier, waiting for the inevitable. There was the sound of steel upon flesh, a shower of bullets, a crushing of a plant, then, silence. I waited for what felt like hours, when it was more like minutes. Then, after all this, the human, the catalyst, Frisk entered the room with me. "Well, hello there. I see you've been busy, yeah? I'm the last one, you know. The last one before you..." In the middle of my monologue I heard a step forward and, as quick as lightning, I unsheathed my blade of moonlight and sliced his hand clean off. "Let me finish." Before I could say anything else, Frisk picked up his knife with his other hand and tried another slash. I countered by completely running him through, my blade like a hot knife through butter. The human fell. My victory was short-lived, however, as the world shifted around me to a previous state and the human, hand and life intact, entered once more. "Well, this is going to be more trouble than I expected. You can keep count this time. I know you fell to him at least once, right?" Frisk then gave the most devilish smirk that I had seen in my life, a smirk that had been shown to every single monster slain by their hand. "Let us dance this dance until the end of time or until you give up. Though, I'd say the latter is much more likely at this point." The battle for the world had begun.
