It was quite different on that walk back home than to the entrance. Everyone looked at me in quite a sinister way, well, except whimsun. Whimsun was nervous to do anything, like usual. Napstablook was there, but he was off to the side. "Hey there." He stayed in silence. "Oh well. See you." He just curled up in a ball, as good as a ghost can do, anyway. The rest of the journey home was mostly uneventful, save for a few glares at me. Those looks were silenced by Toriel, master of stares. "Hey, um, how do you get so good at that?" "My stare? Practice and pure disdain for someone." "Do you mean? Yeah, I think you mean." Toriel nodded in agreement. We arrived at home completely unscathed. "Well, I need to do something..." Toriel sprinted down the stairs to the exit to the ruins. I followed shortly after. "Hey, I can handle myself, you know?" "Perhaps, but I know he, Asgore, will kill you." "He can try." "I see. Very well. Prove to me you are strong enough to survive. Wait. You look like you have seen a ghost. What do you know...? Never mind, I must stop you." The battle ensued with fire and fury. Every attack I dodged with ease while never attacking back myself. "What are you doing? Attack or run away!" I remained silent. More fire came my way, never touching me in a substantial way. "What are you doing?" Silence. "It's sad, is it not? I can't save one person. Heh." I give a reassuring smile. "Very well, I will let you pass." The fire lessened and was eventually gone. "I'm sorry I was ever worried about you." We exchanged an embrace for what would be the last time for a while. "Now, I'm going to take a walk." She slowly walked away and looked back at me before disappearing down the hall. I continued past the gate to the end of the ruins when I encountered the flower. "Well, well. Clever boy. You saved her for now. Who's to say that someone else won't come by in the time you take for your little escapade? Well, you have fun with that. I have some fun to have, myself." He then let out a laugh and disappeared into the ground. I would then proceed to the ice and snow.
