I hear a new girl is coming to our school soon. I think her name is Sophia. I hear she is coming from a school across the country, but she was here when she was younger, so she knows people at our school, especially, Sean. He has been acting different ever since he heard she was coming back. He got more jumpy and was always zoning out. I am worried that he is getting sick or nervous or something.. I really don't know what his deal is. I mean, maybe she is an old friend that he had a feud with. Maybe they are enemies. I don't know.

I was talking to him the other day at lunch. Tiffany, Pamela, Romina, and the others were focused on something else while I talked to him.

"Hey, Sean, are you okay?"

He cocked his head towards me really fast and blinked a couple of times to get whatever he was thinking of out of his mind.

"Yeah, I'm feeling dandy."

"Then why have you been acting different lately?"

"How so?"

"Ever since..." I trailed off my sentence, scared he was going to get annoyed by me like Hillel once did...

"Yes, beautiful?"

I decided to woman-up and tell him what's been bothering me. After all, he was the one man in my life I could trust with anything. Just like he can trust me with anything. I finished my thought:

"Ever since people have started to talk about Sophia coming back, you have been zoning out and not paying attention to me anymore." I got sad at the end of my sentence and looked down. I was frowning a lot. I didn't want to see his reaction to what I just said.

Then, I felt his cold hand lift my chin, to where we were eye to eye. His eyes were beaming a warm ray of love into mine. I couldn't help, but to melt right at his touch.

"Listen," he started to speak, "Sophia was just a little crush I had a LONG time ago and I am only nervous because she probably thinks I like her still. I'm just trying to think of ways to tell her that I'm off limits, no longer interested, nor available. Please, don't worry about it."

He let me go, but I still shifted my head to look down. I was worrying about it, how could I not?

I felt him kiss my right cheek. He whispered in my ear.

"I love you, baby girl. Forever and always."

I was instantly happy at those words.
