I got out of the bathroom and headed down the hallway. I turned left to go down the stairs. When I got into the living room, I saw that Tiffany was sitting on the couch where I left Sean. I looked around the room and didn't see him anywhere.

I tapped Tiffany's shoulder. She turned around to look at me and she had a bit of cupcake frosting on her cheek. "Where's Sean?"

She finished chewing her food before she spoke. "Sophia went to show him how big the house was. They got into an argument and she wanted to prove him wrong."

I felt a jag of pain hit me in the pit of my stomach.

"Oh." It was the only thing that could escape my mouth.

"Yeah." Tiffany looked down and saw her drink was empty. "Ugh, will you come with me to get some more punch."

I did a slight nod. Hoping that maybe Sean will be in there. We headed towards the kitchen. I looked around everywhere and didn't catch sight of one bit of him. I sighed and glanced down at the punch bowl. I was a bit thirsty. I grabbed a cup and poured some punch into it. I turned around to leave the punch bowl and run into Grant.

We bumped into each other as my red punch spilled all over my yellow top.

"I am so sorry!" He pleaded as he grabbed the napkins on a nearby counter. He handed them to me and I snatched them quick and dried up most of the punch. "I didn't see you there!"

"It's okay." I replied.

"Hey," he said calming down a moment, "you're Samantha, right?"

I looked up. I could feel my cheeks slightly blush. I nodded my head.

"Wanna chat a bit outside while the rest of your shirt dries."

Again, I nodded. He grabbed my arm to escort me outside. I turned around to tell Tiffany, but she seemed busy flirting with one of Grant's friends. I let them talk while we went outside to sit on the patio swing.

We sat there for a bit, not saying a word.

"So," he said breaking the silence, "how's it been going?"

"Fine." I answered.

"Listen, I know we got off the wrong foot and everything and I want to apologize for that. I know I should've handled you liking me and everything a bit better. I just never really had a girl tell me that they liked me. I was scared."

Honestly, I looked at Grant differently now. He wasn't the jerk that I thought he turned into. He was actually sweet and sentimental. I started to feel more comfortable.

"It's fine." I smiled at him.

"Really? Are you sure?"

"Positive."

"Thanks." He swung his arm around me and patted my shoulder, but he didn't move his arm after. I sat there not really knowing what to do, but he was radiating off a lot of heat and it was chilly outside. I scooted a bit closer to him and rested my head on his chest. For the first time, I felt calm around another guy other than Sean. I smiled.
