I ran into the hospital. I asked the nurse behind the counter for what room Samantha was in. She started to look in the system. I started to reply how I found out she was here. Gerard had texted me that Tiffany was really upset and not in the mood for talking to him. After he told me why she was upset, I rushed to the hospital with hesitation. I really care about her, even though she may want someone else.
The nurse spoke. "Room 248. On the second floor."
"Thank you." I ran to the elevator and pressed the two on the right side. I tapped my foot anxiously. The doors opened and I sprinted down the hall. At last, I found her room. I went inside and found Tiffany and Samantha's parents crying on the sofa. Sean was looking out the window with one of his hands in his hair.
"What happened?" I broke the silence besides the sound of weeping.
Sean turned to look at me. He had tear stains on his cheeks. His eyes were red and puffy. He spoke with a crackle in his voice.
"Samantha tried to commit suicide by over-dosing on pain killers. Luckily, Tiffany and I made it to her house before the pills started to kick in really bad. She just got examined and we are waiting for the doctor come back."
He went back to looking outside the window. His shoulders where starting to go up and down. I could see a faint reflection of him in the window. He was crying silently.
"Do you know why she tried to.. um.. kill herself?" I couldn't help to ask. I wanted to know so badly.
He cocked his head fast towards me. His eyes filled with tears and anger. My heart beat started to race.
"Because I was mad at her. I had thought she cheated on me with you. When I saw you two kissing in the backyard, I was furious. I didn't know what had happened til Tiffany came to tell me everything that explained it all. I rushed over to her house as fast as I could and.. yeah."
He broke his gaze from me and back to the window. I looked at the ground, feeling bad for ever kissing Samantha. If I hadn't, then Sean wouldn't have been mad at her and she wouldn't have tried to kill herself. I feel like a total ass. I gazed at Samantha on the bed. I had finally noticed the oxygen machine that she was hooked to and the heart monitor. She was calm and motionless. I wish I hadn't have kissed her.
That's when the doctor walked in.
