Rochelle and you walked home later that day, the incident earlier being in the back of your minds. She didn't seem too bothered by it, which definitely eased your worries. You continued your walk while chit chatting, talking about any and every thing under the sun. You were so involved in your conversation that you hadn't realized you were heading towards your house.
Rochelle did, though. Rochelle noticed how you naturally gravitated towards your home as if it was a magnetic pull. You definitely enjoyed being at home more than out in public, and it was obvious to her that you wanted nothing more than to fill your social battery again.
She made sure to memorize every step of the way, just in case you ever wanted to hang out. Or if she ever needed you. Or if she just wanted to see you. It was only for good reason, so Rochelle didn't pay any mind to her flawed reasonings.
After you had gotten home, you stood patiently while she told you goodbye. You were itching to get inside, no matter how fun the day was to you. She let you go quickly, and you rushed in and to your room. You sunk under the blankets of your bed and sighed. It was a good day to you.
Rochelle, however, grabbed her phone and dialed Robecca. Robecca answered quickly.
"Hey!" Rochelle yelped. "I just went on the best date ever! I don't think she realizes but we're meant to be!"
Robecca chuckled. "Woah woah, slow down! A date? Already?"
"Yeah! Her names (Y/N)!"
"Oh! I've heard of her before."
"Yeah! Robecca, she's so sweet and thoughtful and when I was hurt she even got on the ground with me! I think I want to marry her."
"I said slow down!" Robecca laughed. "I'm glad you're happy, but just remember not to end up hurt."
"I won't." Rochelle rolled her eyes.
"Alright ghoul, be safe." Robecca hummed.
"You too!" Rochelle hung up quickly and held her phone to her heart. Oh, she felt so light!
You, however, called Venus to tell her all about your day. Venus listened intently, not having any motive to ruin your excitement. When you had finished your ramble, Venus carefully eyed her phone screen.
"You know, she goes through a relationship every two months. You need to be careful. She's only using you for some temporary fun."
"She isn't that bad!" You whined.
Venus scoffed. "So I'm wrong?"
"Well, no...but-!"
"But nothing, (Y/N)." She frowned.
You nodded. "Okay, fine."
"Tell her things are going too fast."
"I will."
"Now."
You huffed and opened a social media app and found Rochelle. You typed out a short message and sent it.
You:
Hey! I had lots of fun but I think we're going too fast. I think we should slow down.Rochelle felt her heart shatter at that message. No! Things weren't going too fast! She loved you! Didn't you see that? She thought she loved you too.
Rochelle:
We need to talk about this! I think we should meet up!You:
No, I don't think we should. I think we should hold back on dates for a bit. We haven't even known eachother for 2 whole days.Rochelle:
(Y/N) please don't. We need to go at our own speed, not everyone else's!You:
We can talk about this tomorrow.Venus sighed. "Good job. Now, wanna go to that shop you told me about? Blooming Blaire's?"
You huffed. "Yeah, I'll meet you there."
You left your house and walked to the bus stop that you and Venus always met at. She was already there, tapping her foot impatiently at your slow walking.
"Come on, it's right over here!" She smiled.
You giggled and followed after her.
Rochelle felt her heart break once again. She couldn't believe it! She needed you! Why didn't you need her? Maybe you were playing hard to get. But how could she get your attention and tell you it's okay to not play a game. Maybe a plant? You did like plants.
She remembered seeing a flower shop, Blooming Blaire's to be exact. She decided to head there. Perhaps a gift would fix everything.
She walked into the building and sighed. Who knew there were so many plants?
She walked to the back and looked into each pot. Different plants of all colors and sizes sat on shelves, and right behind them was....
You.
She blinked.
You and another girl, Venus, were looking at plants together. Why were you two together? She thought she was the only one?
Her heart broke again. There was no way you'd have a second girl lined up. Maybe you wanted Venus more than her?
No. Rochelle couldn't let that happen. Whatever game you were trying to play, she didn't want to lose. She would win your affection. You were a prize, and she wanted to win it. You were her only reason.
She took out her phone and snapped a picture of you. She couldn't help herself. Even in her pain, you were her reason. She grinned at her picture she had taken. She felt closer to you already.
Rochelle walked out of the store with two lessons she learned.
1: You adored love games.
And 2: She loved watching you.
