Rochelle looked over at her window. She watched the sun slowly peek out from behind a large building. She had gotten zero sleep from the night before, being too absorbed in fantasizing to even worry about getting ready for bed.
She huffed and rubbed her sore, dry eyes. She couldn't believe herself! Why didn't she go to sleep like she was supposed to? Why did she stay up so long?
She looked down at her iCoffin and grinned. That's right, she stayed up to write. She skimmed over the small, personal short story she had written. It was about you and her living your best lives together. She hummed and grinned. The story may have been only words on a screen, but to Rochelle it was a form of release. She wanted a family with you. She needed to be beside you.
She looked over at her small digital clock and sighed. She figured she'd have to get up.
Rochelle finished the last few words on her story before shutting off her device and stepping over to the bathroom. As she looked in the mirror, she made out the obvious forms of sleep deprivation on her face. Her eyes looked sunken in, and her lips were chapped. Her tongue felt dry against the roof of her mouth, practically sticking to the upper side of it.
She groaned and stomped her foot lightly to avoid waking the downstairs dorms. How could she have done this? She wouldn't look pretty for you if she continued to starve herself from the rest she craved. Without thinking about it a second time, Rochelle started up the shower and pulled the handle to her desired temperature.
She stripped and stepped in, rinsing her body off in the hot water. Then, she massaged her scalp with soap and rinsed it out with water. The soap suds pooled around her bare feet on the shower floor, and she stepped aside to let the shower head rinse them down the drain. The water ran over her body, dripping down every curve she had.
Finally she stepped out and dried herself off with a clean, neatly folded towel.
Rochelle was quick to apply a generous amount of makeup. Then, she fixed her hair in a perfect bun with an Eiffel Tower clip. She wanted to look absolutely perfect for you. Rochelle wanted every detail to stand out to you.
She dabbed at her concealer that hid her dark eye circles. She didn't want to look tired for you. Maybe you'd think she was staying up because she was tired of you! Maybe you'd think you didn't want to be her friend! Worse yet, what if you didn't want to even be around her?!
No, Rochelle could not let that happen, especially seeing how perfect you were. There was no way she'd ever push you away. She was sure she had some sort of crush on you, and though she fell for others easily, you felt different. You were different, and Rochelle liked that.
Rochelle decided that was enough thinking, so she grabbed her bag and slung it over her shoulders. Then, she made her way to the school with a grin on her face. She couldn't wait to see you again.
By the time she had reached the school, she was still an entire hour earlier than when she was supposed to arrive. It didn't bother her, though. That gave her more time to think about what to say to you!
As Rochelle stood at her locker, she went over every possible conversation with you that she could have. Any and every reply you gave, she was prepared for. She was prepared for everything. Besides, she had an entire hour to rehears.
She walked down the halls and to her classroom. Her hands gently opened the door, and she gazed in the lit room. You sat at your desk with a book in your hand. It was titled "Gardening for Green Thumbs", something she had heard of at Merrin's Bookstore.
Every thought in her mind left her, leaving her brain blank and her rehearsed conversations useless. She stuttered a bit, sputtering out short words and hushed nonsense. It caught your attention, and you looked up at her.
"Rochelle?" You squinted to see her better. "What're you doing here so early?"
"Just-Uh-J-Just......I was uh......"
You furrowed your brows. "You were....?"
"Up early!" She squeaked. You nodded.
"Uh huh...are you okay?"
"Yeah! Totally fine!" She replied hastily.
You nodded again. "Okay."
She couldn't believe it! You actually cared about her! That was something completely out of the blue for her, something she had never witnessed one of her crushes do. You actually cared? You actually felt something for her? Any relationship Rochelle had before you was hard to deal with, but being near you felt easy and safe.
"How about another date?" You asked, not looking up from your book.
Rochelle noticed the small blush that formed.
"Uh yeah! Of course! I'd love to!"
"Right now?" You raised a brow before glancing at her. "We can skip."
"Skipping with you sounds amazing.
"You sure?"
"Yes. I'm very very sure."
