The figure of a skykid limped towards the cave slowly

Persephone's pov
______________________________________

Persephone woke up in the middle of the night

Not because of the nightmare she had, despite how terrifying Ari the crab krill manta hybrid is that's not the reason she woke up
Persephone had the strange feeling that something was approaching

Persephone stood up and looked around her to see if anything changed
Lydia was curled into a ball in the corner beside her was the firework staff
Haru was laying down near the extinguished camp fire, a butterfly fluttering near his ear
Estella and Cadence slept near each other, cadence muttered the words "annoying live flower crowns leave me alone"

The only one Persephone didn't see was-
"Persephone your awake too?"
Persephone turned around to see Ari wide awake it wasn't obvious in the dark but Persephone could see flower petals stuck in Ari's hair "is it me or something feels..wrong" Persephone whispered "you too huh?" Ari murmured brushing the petals off her hair "This might be dumb but I think we should check it out that way I can sleep in peace" Persephone said as Ari nodded her head as the two skykids left

As they went out of the bunker Persephone brought out one light orb to use as a light source "You know we could just use our candles right?"
Ari said "I know but the orb brings more light-"
Persephone paused she heard the sound of a twig snapping
"Wha-"
Before Ari could finish her sentence a figure pounced towards her
"Woah- Ouch- It burns!"
Persephone watched in fear
As the figure pulled Ari's hair then she managed to get a hold of herself "hey you!" Persephone's voice got the figure's attention it turned to her and left Ari alone who was groaning in pain. Persephone waved the orb around "catch me if you ca- oh OH"
Turns out the figure could run pretty fast luckily Persephone ran out of the way before she became dinner Persephone was hoping that the action would catch it off guard and make it trip and land in the lake behind her but it didn't work the figure took a sharp turn forcing Persephone to start running
"Ari,A little help here!" Unfortunately Ari was in no condition to stand up
"No worries Persephone I'll save ya!"
Ari tried to sit up but landed face first into the dirt "...nevermind" she moaned but in the corner of Persephone's eye was a flash of violet 
Lydia stood near, her firework staff ready while cadence was bandaging Ari, embers of light flew out of Ari's arm Estella and haru were standing beside her, . Estella looked like she was in the verge of crying, haru was holding a slingshot Persephone didn't remember him having. Lydia shot another firework but Persephone realized that she wasn't hitting him but rather using it to light the cave. In the red tinted light Persephone finally got a close look at the creature

It was a skykid
But he didn't look like one

He had spikey hair that reminded Persephone of sah one of the valley elders, his face was covered by a half broken owl mask between it's cracks revealed eyes the color of haru's tea which was a murky green his cape didn't resemble a cape. He seemed to be afraid of the fireworks and kept on avoiding them  whenever Lydia summoned one
Then something in him snapped
He ran towards Persephone
"Persephone run!" Haru shouted running to him but Estella grabbed his arm "haru it's to dangerous!"
"Your friend is going to murder her!"
"Guys stop-" Lydia and Cadence said in the same time getting sucked into the mini argument leaving Persephone in the dust with a corrupted skykid just as he was about to pounce at her Persephone used the light orb like a shield making it cast a blinding yellow light
