Haru's pov

Haru and Ari were both walking towards the gate that led to the Citadel
"Hey Haru, about what I said about Lilith in the isle of dawn.."
"Don't worry,it's fine"
Ari looked suprized
"I don't take any offense to it,I just overreacted back there" haru said trying to steer the conversation away from Lily
"Ah...alright, just talk about it if you want to"
Haru couldn't help but smile a little
The Ari from a few weeks ago would never apologize but now it seemed that she was feeling shameful about it,
And that shame was genuine
"I know what your thinking,just because I'm younger than you doesn't mean I can't grow up" Ari stomped her foot playfully like she was pretending to throw a tantrum
"Yeah sure,I bet that you still hug Mr.fox your sleep"
Ari blushed at the mention of her old toy fox "hey that doesn't count,I stopped hugging him five years ago!"
"Bet that you still dream about him"
"No fair! I-" Ari tripped on a staircase
A sign that they have reached their destination
The citadel was Infront of them

"No way, that's the Citadel?" Ari said with awe. Even though Valley of Triumph,like all the realms at that moment, is corrupted the citadel still looked pretty. The harsh red sky and slightly ruined buildings made the place have a calm after the storm type of feeling

"Time to harvest some berries" haru prepared a tiny basket that Amaya gave them before they left
Ari flew towards the arch "last one out is a rotten egg!" She shouted her voice echoed
"I knew she was going to do that" haru sighed and started flying to catch up with his sister

Ari made it to the cliff first "hah your a rotten egg!" She said to haru

"No, you are"
Ari and haru turned around to see a young skykid, she had a green cape and a jumper with brown boots, her hair was styled into pigtails
"Aren't you too young to go alone?do you have anybody with you?"
The young skykid was wearing a mask but haru could tell that she was smiling  "I do! Come with me"
She pointed to the Citadel itself

Haru and Ari glanced at the lantern plum tree, it's not like those fruits were going to grow legs and run away
"Okay, were coming"

Inside one of the ruins on the Citadel was a skykid with a yellow cape shivering in front of a few candles, the skykid noticed the younger one
"Fiona,did you get the plums I told you to fetch"
"I didn't get them but look who I found Helen!" Fiona pointed to Haru and Ari, they were about to say something but Helen interrupted them "Fiona! What did I say about bringing strangers here" Helen chided
Fiona bowed her head in shame

"Sorry" she murmured Helen sighed wrapping her arms around her stomach. That's when Haru realized, she wasn't shivering from the cold
She was starving.from the looks of it Ari noticed it too "hey we know a skykid named Amaya with lots of foo-"
"Amaya? If I were you I wouldn't trust her" Helen said
Haru thought he misheard her for a second "what do you mean? Amaya's nice"  Helen scoffed "Amaya's anything but nice,the only reason why Amaya has a lot of food is because she stole them from other skykids, me and Fiona included,she'd always do anything for a reward "
Ari was blank as if she was still processing what she just heard
The two siblings looked at each other

She'd always do anything for a reward

Haru remembered how Amaya looked at Persephone's bag and how she spoke about 'rewards'
Then would Amaya steal the light orbs?...
No she wouldn't
Would she?
