Persephone's pov

Persephone expected Parhelia and Haru to return with arms filled with berries
Instead they came back with a crab on a stick
Ari looked at the crab skeptically "are you sure eating crabs are safe during times like this, what if it's corrupted?"
Parhelia replied to Ari's worry "no, if it was it should have dark goop leaking out so far it doesn't have any of that" Parhelia then roasted the crab over the fire and before Persephone knew it she was eating tiny bits of the Crab's leg. It was nothing like Persephone tasted before, she heard that crabs were counted as a delicacy
But she wasn't used to eating meat, like most skykids she usually ate berries and bread instead. This was basically her first and last time eating crabs

Ari's pov

Ari looked at Haru, he seemed much more gloomier than usual, his pale blue eyes were tired and sad, he didn't eat any of the crab at all which Ari thought was weird since haru always wanted to taste crab
On the other hand Parhelia looked completely clueless at haru's strange behavior, then again it was her first time meeting him Parhelia is probably thinking that haru acts like this all the time
Meanwhile Persephone looked at the crab with distaste
"That's the last time I'm eating crabs" Persephone muttered which made Parhelia laugh "it took me awhile to adjust to it too, but don't worry you'll get used to it"
"Over my dead body"
Persephone's words cheered Ari up a little and she turned to look at Haru who was looking at a butterfly chrysalis hanging from a branch.

Ari felt her worries disappear as Haru's somber expression turned into a soft smile.
