I close the door and leave home. Steve's coming my way with a bunch of chart papers, and bags guess that's some of the designs. "Is Grace-?" he asks hesitantly.
"Yeah yeah she's home." I quickly reply and leave.
School today was gonna be interesting. I sigh, having the thought of confronting Hazel if she comes by, she's just so annoying.
I reach Chloe's place to find her waiting for me outside her house. She flutters her fingers signaling me a 'hi'.
I try my best to smile like usual. And I think I sold it.
Chloe doesn't talk much either, she's generally very chattery, but maybe yesterday's plan made her tense too. Which is not that unexpected.
Chloe and Jasper were finally together after all that misunderstanding, and I know how they feel for each other. They don't deserve this.
But throwing Hazel off is much more important or things might get worse.
We reach the school gate and Leo stands there with his usual face filled with happiness and positivity. It's not very easy to get him to stop smiling. Another fun fact about Leo, is his very unique collection of bags.
Or collection of any sort of textile designs really. His bag today had a bunch of weenie from Oswald. The bag was yellowish in color and had a big sunflower in the corner.
We enter school and my eyes won't stop searching for Hazel.
Ew. That sounded weird, even in my mind. Although my eyes are searching for Hazel (non- romantically). I never want to find her. And thank God that I don't.
For the first 2 classes I don't see Hazel. Not even in the hallways.
Chloe takes Leo to check out the hot anthropology teacher. Leo asks her to. Which I guess was Leo's way of cheering Chloe up.
I lean against the chair. Looking at the ceiling. Feeling a bit sleepy.
"Really? I thought you'd take my place when I'm gone." My eyes open immediately and I turn towards the voice.
"Peter!" A big smile appears on my face. "What are you doing here!?" I jump out of my seat to give him a hug.
"Nothing much. I have a little paperwork left for my transfer." he says and he hugs me back.
"Maybe the school doesn't want you to go." I smirk. Raising my eyebrows.
He chuckles looking at his foot.
Peter's my very favorite classmate. Apart from Leo and Chloe I could always count on him. He wasn't a very personal kind of friend who I'd invite for thanksgiving.
Also because Peter once told me that he had a crush on me. But I was way too much of a nerd to even process that. Also that phase didn't really last for very long. He had a girlfriend and I was happy for him.
Our connection was way more academic. We loved challenging each other, teasing each other, scoring better than each other. It was actually fun knowing that I have a legitimate competition. But he got transferred to some other school after sophomore year.
"Well Mrs. Violate told me that 'there's this girl trying to top your score but I don't think she'll be able to do it.' I guess she was talking about you." he jokes, wrinkling his nose.
"Yeah" I chuckle. "You wish. Topping your scores is an ancient story"
"Pfft. Right." he says sarcastically and I smack his arm. I sigh at the thought that I am actually gonna miss this smart ass idiot. "So, I see you've made a new friend. Apart from Chloe and Leo" he tilts his head to get a clear vision of the person.
