I nearly choke. What am I supposed to say?

Evelyn: really? What do you think he was here for?

Chloe: I don't know, could be anything, maybe he's here for work purpose, maybe he's dating someone.

I did not want to talk to her about this for long.

Evelyn: yeah... could be anything.

hey... I guess my mother's calling me, she's all freaked out about my nose injury, ttyl.

Chloe: yeah. bye.

After dinner I just lie on the bed for really long. I can't stop thinking about what the hell am I going to tell Chloe. If she starts talking about it tomorrow.

She has been my best friend since we were kids. If I lie, she will see right through me. I was going to tell her about Jasper and my little meeting. But for now if she gets back with Jasper, I want her to decide it all by herself and not because I think Jasper is good for her.

She already has a soft corner for him I can tell, but she needs to think stuff practically and I wasn't even sure if she was going to get together with Jasper. But if she does Jasper should be the one to make her believe that he is worth giving a second chance.

My eyes were barely open when I heard mum calling me for breakfast and I'm kind of prepared for her to say things about last night but there was really nothing much to discuss. My mother thinks that I am submissive and that I would let someone else take over things or people that I deserve. I just cannot convince her.

I change my nightwear and take a shower. I quickly ran downstairs to grab my breakfast and not my surprise.

"Eva, I think we need to talk about last night," said mum.

"Mum, there is nothing much to talk about. I know you worry about me getting a boyfriend but please trust me I will get one when it is the right time."

"And I am not sure if that right time is going to come in a million years. I just want you to take your time, have options and choose the right person who will stay with you for the rest of your life." I don't know what's gonna take to convince her.

Also speaking of the right one, should I just rush into things. I hope not, I don't think I'll end up with 'the right one' if I just go for the next good looking guy without knowing anything else about him.

"Mum, I can't do this everyday. I'm leaving for school. Please try to talk about something else when I'm back."

I leave in a hurry because I don't want to say another word about the absurd boyfriend thing which she was definitely freaking out about. On the way I meet Chloe and tell her about my mother's behavior.

We reach school, Leo's been waiting at the gate. I see Jasper waiting in the hallway near Chloe's locker. I'm not really sure if I was going to leave Jasper alone with Chloe. But I still want Jasper to give his 110% to convince Chloe.

So I drag Leo to the library with me saying that I need a book. Leo probably did not see Jasper standing near Chloe's locker. I did not give Chloe time to ask where I'm going. We just blend into the crowd.

I go by the first, second, third and finally the forth self of the library to find something good. Wuthering Heights. Always a favourite. I pull the book out of the shelf,  "Vengeance."

I know that voice. And I kinda like that voice. Wait I do??  I turn back and smile, didn't realise he was just behind me. Pretty close. He steps back, and smiles down at me. His eyes are so dreamy.

"May I?" Takes the book from my hand, our fingers brush, I quickly look at him but he doesn't. "what do you like about this book?"

"Well, a story's fun when characters have a strong motive. For something good. Or for something bad."

"mmhmm." a little smile, by his lips. Returns me the book. I move my hand a bit further (intentionally) to touch his fingers. This time he looks. But I don't.

oh Evelyn! that was.... gooood....

"See you around." He smiles and waves me a 'bye' before he leaves.

After wandering for a few minutes in the library I realize it's time for the class so we come back to class and I find Chloe sitting there with a very uncertain face. I could not tell much about what she was thinking but it definitely had something to do with what Jasper said to her.

It's lunch time, all three of us are about to go outside when Jasper comes and stops before Chloe "hey, can we talk?"

I see Leo has a confusing look on his face. I grab Leo's hand and take him outside.

"What's going on with those two?" Asks Leo.

"Jasper's trying to get Chloe back." I was in such a hurry to leave those two by themselves, that answer just slips through my tongue.

"What? Why? And you knew about it?" Leo questions.

"Uh... I don't know for sure I mean that's what it looks like. Don't you think? With Hazel not being Jasper's 'gf' anymore there's a fair chance that Jasper might hit on Chloe." I didn't want Leo to feel bad about me knowing the whole thing and not telling him about it.

Honestly I don't know why Jasper told me about the whole truth and not Leo, maybe because Leo was so hurt about Hazel calling him out.

Leo and Jasper were actually good friends, but after Hazel's behavior they did drift apart. Also Jasper had that I- helped- you card to play with me and today morning I was not even sure that Chloe was going to talk to Jasper but now it seems that Chloe might be thinking the same as Jasper.

"Yeah maybe, I don't know. But why did you bring me out? We could have just stayed and heard what Jasper had to say." There's still a lot of confusion in Leo's voice.

"Yeah... I mean you know how they have history together so I thought we could give them some privacy. Chloe's almost an adult now she's supposed to be able to handle some of her minor crises by herself".

"That does make sense." Replies Leo.

Alright you wait here I'll see if there's some soda in the cafeteria. You want one?".

"Sure,"

I stand in the queue to get our sodas when I hear a familiar voice or rather an annoying one.

"Hey!"

I turn around with narrow eyes "Hazel, what are you doing here? I'm seriously not in the mood to get in a fight with you."

"Babe, why would you think that? I was just checking up on you. It seems your throat is dry because of all the lying you had to do." she had her usual dramatic-bitch voice going on. And I knew what she was talking about.
