Everything is so dark. Why is it so dark? Are my eyes closed still? I try to force my eyes open and I'm met with slick blackness again, but this time it's a little blurrier.
My throat is dry and tiredness seeps through my bones. Where is Sev? Reality comes in slowly. Dane... Voldemort... the whip... my fingers reach for my back and I'm met with warm wetness. I bring my fingers back to my face and I can smell the blood.
My eyes start to adjust to the darkness and I can see the thick dark blood coating my fingers. I feel bile creeping up my sore throat. wendy.... where's Wendy? WENDY?!
Dread overcame all my senses as a throat full of bile and screams came up. I stood up long enough to double over and puke were I was seated.
After my last meal was no longer in my system I began to stagger around in the fuzzy darkness looking for a door, grate, air vent, anything that could be used as an escape route. Finally after few minutes I found a large metal door. My hands searched the metal for the cold handle before it finally fit into my hand.
My pulled and pushed and yanked trying anything to get the heavy door to open before I finally gave up and slid to the bottom of the door.
I sat like that for minutes, hours? I'm not sure. When I started to doze out from pure exhaustion footsteps sounded from outside the door. I position myself so that however it is won't see me when they open the door.
A key slides into the doorknob and the lock clicks. As soon as it leaves the lock, the door knob turns and the door is pushed open. I wait, one second, two. The figure is standing in the doorway now.
In one swift move I throw my fist into the outline of their nose and they drop to the ground with a moan of pain. I don't waste a second as I scramble around the body and fly out the doorway. I scan my surroundings as I make my way deeper into the building. Everything is dark but bits of sunlight streaming in from sky lights.
I can hear the person's groans echoing through the halls. I scramble around the corner and there's a flight of stairs. Relief floods through me. Maybe an escape. Is this a house? My feet carry me down the hard concrete steps and in front of the stairs is another metal door.
I run to the door and grasp the handle tightly turning it down. The door creaks open and sunlight floods in along with the scent of smoke. Cars speed down a highway a few feet away.
He really left me so unattained? Made it this easy to escape? I took the opportunity and dashed across the road. I run for what feels like miles down un-even streets full of cracks and pot-holes.
This is definitely the muggle world. How do I find my way back? I head into a gas station probably a mile from the prison/house thing and ask where I am.
With directions I head back outside and start running towards the train station.
He must be looking for me. I don't think the person was unconscious. Maybe a broken nose though. Every few seconds I'd look over my shoulder and pray I wouldn't see him or one of his "friends" chasing after me.
Finally after another hour and being completely exhausted the train station came into view. With the last of my energy I ran inside and through the wall to platform 9 3/4.
Sitting at the station was the train to Hogwarts like it was waiting for me to arrive. I board and find a seat. It'll be a long ride all by myself.
With some alone time to think I realize I no longer have my wand. Wherever it is I'm hoping it isn't broken. Severus will help me fix all those problems. I just need to find him.
A knock sounds on the door to my seating area. There stands Dane with his dark hair matted and oily making him look crazed. His eyes glinting with sharp amusement and anger.
The cart is locked he can't get in. I think. But he casually pulls out his wand and the lock clicks. Fuck. His hand reaches out and the door begins to open.
"You can't run from me Y/n. You are MINE forever." Right as he goes to take a step inside my cart, a shout sounds along with a large streak of light.
I shield my eyes from the light. When I look again Dane is laying on the floor dead. Dead. He's dead. A million things run through my head as I try to process what happened.
Then I see him, the love of my life standing over my ex-husband. My dead ex-husband. His hair untamed and his breath ragged. His terror filled eyes search mine.
He drops his wand and slowly comes forward with his hands up. He reaches me and drops to his knees. His hand reaches up and caresses my cheek. I let out a sob mixed with a sigh. "Oh my love. I have you now. He will never hurt you ever again. He's dead. He can't come back." He pulls my head closer and rests his forehead on mine.
"Oh Severus," I continue to sob as the words spill out of my mouth. "Will you marry me?" His breath stops.
"What?" He pulls away from me and his eyes search mine again. "Y/n, are you serious?"
"Yes. Severus will you marry me?"
He backs up even more. He's going to say no. Instead he sits up and kneels on one knee. "Marry Christmas Y/n." He says as he pulls out a beautiful black velvet box that holds a diamond ring in a black band. "Will you marry me?" Tears steam down his face.
"I asked you first!" I say laughing through the tears. "But yes, I'll marry you Severus Tobias Snape."
