Love For Too Many

Chapter 44

It's been a long week. After everything that's happened I'm not sure how my life will work itself out. But it always does somehow.

I gave Clint another hug and then went back to the carriage with a renewed energy. I'm still not okay and I don't know how long it will take for me to fully recover if ever but knowing my friend is with me still adds a little pep to my step.

The carriage ride Minerva lets me be or more so I let her be as she plunges back into that book. I've already asked to read it next. I use the ride to figure out how to approach Severus. Though I was the one to go through it he witnessed it and the aftermath.

Hogwarts pulls into view a few minutes later and I carefully make my way out of the carriage. Severus walks out of the castle and when we lock eyes his smile reappears. Something that has seemed very forced recently and only for my benefit.

I walk to him and we stand a step apart. We just look at each other. I've missed feeling happy enough to appreciate him in all his glory.

He seems timid at first like I will break again with one touch. Honestly I might but I don't care anymore. "Hi Sev." His eyes light up at my voice and I take the extra step and wrap my arms around his neck and give him the tightest hug I can muster.

"Hi my love." He whispers into my hair. I pull away and kiss his lips tenderly.

"My friend, Clint, he's an animagus. All these years I thought he was dead but he was in hiding because he thought I was a muggle." I laugh at how that sounds. "Me? A muggle? Definitely not." He chuckles and it's like music to my ears.

Minnie follows behind me, nose in her book and says to Sev. "Don't fuck it up this time stupid."

Severus looks shocked at first and then sneered back, "it wasn't even me this time." I just laugh at their antics

"Where's my little girl?"

"She's in our office coloring. Something about a surprise for mommy."

"Oh I can't wait!" I take his hand and he leads me down to our office. He knocks on the door and asks: "Is the surprise down? Momma's here?"

I hear a little giggle from the inside and then Bug yells "Come on in Mommy!" Sev opens the door and inside is Wendy with a giant banner going from one side of the room to the other that reads: "Best Mommy Ever!" And inside the room are all the blankets from Sev and I's rooms and all the pillows.

"We're having a big slumber party with the best mom ever." Sev whispers into my ear as his hands wrap around my stomach.

"Do you like it Mommy?"

"I love it bug! It's amazing! Did you do all this by yourself?" She grins from ear to ear and goes, "Nooooo, Daddy helped me."

"He did? Well you two did a great job."

We spend the rest of the day getting snacks and all the goodies needed for a great slumber party. Then we all put on our pjs and our slippers and Wendy grabs her blankie and we all go to the office and have a nice night of projected movies and popcorn and marshmallows and a sleepy little bug.
