The next morning when Levi woke up, his brain was fuddled with broken memories. He squinted his eyes open, groaning as golden rays warmed his face.

He yawned tiredly before rubbing his eye to look down at Lenny cuddled close to his chest.

A bright smile lit up his face as he noticed Lenny holding his shirt tightly in his hands, afraid to let go lest he would go back in his crib.

Levi leaned down to peck his forehead and cradled him tighter causing Lenny to whine in disturbance before slowly peeking open one eye.

"Hey bubba." Levi smooched all over his face, earning him cute giggles and squirming.

"Dada! Pwease!"

When his daddy relinquished, Lenny attacked with kisses and snuggles. After they calmed, the kid's face had mustered up as much serious expression as a twenty months old baby could.

"Dada?"

Levi had a bemused smile on his lips yet he continued the play. "Yes bubba?"

"Dada no wowwy. Bubba pwotect dada fwom meanie. No cwy dada. Dada cwy bubba huwt."

Lenny had always been sharper than other kids his age. Still those protective emotions his two years old kid bestowed on him made Levi's tummy to flip blissfully. Overwhelming emotions clogged up his throat at concern swelling in those shiny brown orbs. He snuggled the baby closer to his chest before smothering him in a fresh wave of kisses. With tears of happiness he squeezed the kid till Lenny was giggling and squealing.

"Ok bubba. I won't cry ok." Lenny cutely tilted his head in confusion as tears swarmed his dada's eyes but as if understanding, he gave a single nod before pulling Levi from the bed.

His memories were still hazy with no chance of ever clearing up. The last he remembered where that of night being spent with father-son duo on the backyard. Squinting his eyes at the clock, he noted it was already half past ten.

Damn! Mr. Bossy might have already left.

Hurrying out the door, he expected the house to be wrapped in silence. However he stood dumbstruck for a couple moments listening to the clanking of pots coming from down the hall. When Lenny began to fuss, he strode down the path leading straight to a clumsy kitchen.

The sight in front made him think a hurricane to have struck only in the kitchen. Taking deep gulps of air, he immediately sputtered coughing as something burning wafted around.

"S-sir?!"

Hearing the sound, a ghost turned around making him gasp in amusement. Lenny squealed in delight thinking his father was playing with the dough. Quickly he fumbled in his dada's arms till he was let down. The moment his chubby legs touched the flour covered floor, he ran around spreading more mess.

Levi looked around to find several dirty pots and pans sitting on the sink with soap studs overflowing them. Dry flour smeared across half the counter while batter splattered the rest. Ladle dripping with batter ultimately feeding the hungry floor, lay unattended at the edge.

Judging from the look of pancakes and eggs burning on the stove, Levi deduced this Mr. Bossy was trying to prepare breakfast.

Not even the dining table was left unattended. Dishes piled high with poorly made pancakes littered around while a puddle of orange juice covered a magnificent spot at the table.

Lenny being the naughty child ran around spreading more dirt and tumbled into the table causing a huge glass of orange juice to spill over the table, into the tiles.

To say the kitchen was messy would be an understatement. The last time Levi had left it spotless but now....

Won't be me cleaning it up!
