"No!" Ellis yelled "I help mommy"
"Ellie, I just wanna help" Derek frowned
"I always help mommy" The girl stated and ran back to her mother
Derek sighed. Ever since they told the girl they were back together it was as if Ellis didn't let him help out. He quietly walked towards Meredith's room where he heard the two talking
"Mommy?" Ellis quietly asked
"Yes honey?" Meredith smiled as the girl laid down next to her
"I'm still your bestest help, right?" The girl asked with tears in her eyes
"Of course you are, why'd you even doubt that?" Meredith frowned
"Because daddy's here too. And uncle Alex always says I'm the bestest help and now- Daddy helps a lot too" She sighed "Will you two forget about me?" Ellis quietly asked
"Oh Ellie, why'd you even think that? No, of course not. You are the most important thing in mommy and daddy's world" Meredith wrapped her sore arms around her daughter
"I don't ever want you and daddy to split up again" Ellis muttered in Meredith's chest
"Daddy and I won't leave eachother again, honey" Meredith kissed Ellis' head
...
"Doctor Grey-Shepherd?" Derek called out
"That's me!" Ellis giggled
"I need the best doctor and that's you! Can you teach me how to take care of your mommy?" Derek asked with a smile. Meredith had been asleep all morning because they'd go to the playground in the afternoon
"Is it playground time?" Ellis' eyes widened
"It is!" Derek nodded
"Mommy!" Ellis whispered as she ran towards her mother's room. The girl slipped inside and climbed up the hospital bed "Hi Poppy" She giggled as she noticed their dog was still asleep "Mommy, wake up"
"Ellie?" Meredith groaned but it was too dark to see anything
"Dr Grey-Shepherd and Dr Shepherd" Derek announced and opened the curtains
"Hmm" Meredith moaned as Derek kissed her lips
"Mommy, it's playground time" Ellis giggled "You and Pops need to wake up so we can go"
"Oh really?" Meredith chuckled "Aunt Addie called earlier and she'll be here next week" Meredith tried to distract the girl as she hoped to sleep 5 minutes longer
"Really? With uncle Mark?" Ellis gasped
"Yep" Meredith chuckled
"I've never seen anyone get so excited over Mark" Derek laughed
"He's great with El" Meredith smiled
"And now getting up, mommy! I wanna go to the playground" Ellis tried again
"Okay. Okay" Meredith breathed
"Let me help you get up because Doctor Grey-Shepherd has made you something to eat before we go" Derek smiled and lifted Meredith out of bed into the chair. She didn't need to change her clothes as he had helped her shower earlier today and they'd just go to the park down the street
"Pops, are you awake?" Meredith giggled as the dog seemed to be sleepy still
"I don't think so" Derek laughed "Luckily Ellis prepared a snack for her as well" Derek winked and pushed Meredith to their kitchen
"Avocado?" Meredith smiled as she saw the plate on the table "I love that"
"I know" Ellis giggled
"And Pops, for you there's a snack as well" Derek laughed as the dog was eating while her tail wiggled
...
"Daddy, higher!" Ellis screamed as she was swinging
"Careful, baby" Meredith said from her spot on the sideline, poppy's leash in her hand
"Higher!" Ellis giggled
"It's already high enough, Ellis" Derek said sternly as he was scared
"Higher!" She kept screaming and tried to jump off as she didn't agree with what her father was saying
"Ellis!" Meredith and Derek gasped as the girl fell on her stomach
Meredith quickly wheeled herself over and Derek placed a crying Ellis in Meredith's lap
"Daddy told you to be careful, Ellie" Meredith rubbed Ellis' bach
"I wanted higher" Ellis whimpered in Meredith's arms
"Did you hurt yourself?" Meredith asked and felt relief when her daughter shook her head
Poppy licked Ellis' hand and the girl had to giggle
"See, even Pops is concerned about you" Meredith winked
"I'm okay, Poppy" Ellis giggled
"Let's go for a walk" Meredith said and pushed her chair with Ellis still on her lap
"Is that okay? I can carry her-" Derek suggested
"I got her, right munchkin?" Meredith tickled Ellis' stomach
"Yeah" Ellis smiled and tightened her grip on her mother
"Love you so so much" Meredith kissed Ellis' head
"Love you too, mommy" Ellis smiled
"What about me?" Derek pretended to be hurt
"We love you too, daddy" Ellis giggled and then Poppy barked once causing them to start laughing
"Oh Pops, I love you so so much too" Meredith brushed her hand through Poppy's golden fur
"And I'm sure Poppy loves you too" Derek smiled "You two are too cute" He smiled "Does this mean I now have three girls to look after?" He asked with a wink
"Only if you take really really good care of us, daddy" Ellis sternly said as she looked up
"You heard her" Meredith smiled as Derek looked at her because he was amazed by his daughter
"I will" Derek nodded and kissed Ellis' head, followed by Meredith's head and even gave a kiss on top of Poppy's head "I am the luckiest man alive" He smiled and took over the handles of Meredith's chair as he saw she was getting tired and had issues to push herself even if it had motorized wheels
He smiled as Meredith and Ellis cuddled while he pushed them back home, he couldn't start to explain how he felt
