Blown Away

Sarah leaned her head back on Kakashi's shoulder as she sat in his lap.  The end of their week alone was quickly coming to an end.  It had been almost magical the way they had been with one another, even with all the crazy instances in between.  She shifted her eyes to the book he was reading and barely refrained from smirking.  While he had deviated to read her novels, he was back to his favorite Icha, Icha series again.  She was also reading as they sat contentedly on the couch.  It was the first time since they were married that they were doing something other than tearing each other's clothes off.  It was rather peaceful sitting wrapped up in one another while drifting off into stories.

She almost groaned when a knock at the door interrupted the brief interlude.  She then straightened when she heard Orion's voice coming through the door, "It's me, Mama.  Are you both decent?"

Kakashi smirked and chuckled as he watched his wife turn the shade of a tomato as she shimmied off his lap.  He called back, "Come on in!"

Orion's frame filled the door as it opened.  Sarah narrowed her eyes on him, "You're in so much trouble, Orion!  Getting into a brawl in the street and having to have the ANBU haul you off?  What were you thinking-" She stilled as she saw Neo slink in meekly behind him.  Her brows shot up as she looked at the blush on her friend's cheeks.  Neo was not meek in the least and that stopped whatever else she was going to say to her son.

"First off, I was totally justified which is why I'm standing here now and not still there," Orion said with a rather unrepentant grin on his face.  "Second... Neo and I..." he paused only long enough to grab Neo from behind him and haul her in front of him, "got married a few minutes ago."

Sarah's mouth dropped open, Neo turned another shade of red, and Kakashi started laughing hard.  "Told you it was a lover's quarrel."

She elbowed him in the gut before jumping to her feet and rushing over to Neo.  She gave a squeal as she held tight to her friend and now daughter!  Her mind was a whirl as the emotions rolled through her.  Never could she have ever imagined this moment.  She had wondered if he would ever get married and when he did... he picked one of the best women she knew!

"I'm so happy I can barely speak!" she finally said.  "Now not only are you my friend, you're my daughter!  I'm overwhelmed!  This last week has been the best days of my life!"

Kakashi slapped Orion on his shoulder as Sarah tugged Neo off to the side to talk privately with her.  He shifted his gray eyes in their direction before giving him a long look.  "Are you ready to have a talk with me about your father while they are busy?"

Orion shifted on his feet then gave a nod.  Kakashi motioned towards the back door before heading to it.  He followed quietly behind him.  He was still stunned from what the monk had told him not long before as he took one of the two seats outside, his eyes shifting to the line of trees backing up alongside the home.

"Before you say anything..." Orion said softly, "the monk told me something.  Apparently, my father passed on a message from the other side.  He wanted you to know he was sorry for what he did."

Kakashi gave a long sigh then hung his head for a moment.  "I'm glad to hear that.  I will be honest, it was hard meeting you the first time.  You look like him... so much that it was like a punch in the gut.  I've loved your mother since we were children... and he knew it.  I hate that she suffered because of my love... but, I think the world is better that you are in it."  His gray eyes shifted over to him, "Now I'm glad... that a piece of him is still in this world.  Obito... he was better than I was when we were young.  He understood that there were more important things than following the rules."

He leaned back and stared almost unseeing towards the trees before looking back at him again.  His eyes narrowed in a way that Orion could tell was one of smiling.
