Bad Romance

Orion stopped straining against the bars to watch what was happening when Phoenix started tugging on his arm.  He looked down at her and felt his face flush a little.  An ANBU jail was not an appropriate place for her at all and his mother was going to flip out when she found out she was brought inside one.  Her blue eyes were wide as she looked at him.  He knelt down to her level, pressing his forehead to the bars.

"What's going on in your head, sweetheart?"

"Why did you beat him up?  Is he a rogue?"

"He's a very bad man, Phoenix," he said softly.  "He's done terrible things and as a Shinobi I had to make him pay for it."

"Then why are you in here too?"

Orion chuckled; she was too damn smart for a four-year-old.  "Because Lord Seventh has to figure out what all happened and until he does, he won't know how bad he is."

Neo came back over to Orion's cell again to his relief.  She had a smirk on her face and her eyes almost gleamed devilishly.  "That should take care of your problems."

He reached through the bars and pulled her closer.  He wanted to kiss her again, but now was not the time.  He could almost feel the clock ticking.  He wasn't sure how long her powers held sway over anyone and the last thing he wanted was for her and Phoenix to get caught inside.  "Kitten, you better go before you get caught."

Neo shifted her eyes to Phoenix before leaning in to grab the front of his shirt and pull him close enough to kiss him hard through the bars.  He was stunned and she blushed a little as she pulled back.  "I hope you get sprung soon because I think we need a fresh start from this bad romance we've found ourselves in." She then grabbed Phoenix hand and quickly went to where the ANBU was standing silently still in her grip.  She slapped him on the arm, "Time for us to go."

Orion ran his thumb across his lip, still feeling her lips on his own as she disappeared from view.  His eyes then shifted to the cell that Niko was housed in.  It was very silent, and he wondered what in the world Neo had done to him.  

Neo held her breath as they quickly made their way out of the ANBU headquarters.  They went past the guard in front of the building, who didn't flinch.  She then let out a long breath as they got a block away without an alarm sounding.  Phoenix was giggling at her side.

"I wish I could do what you can," Phoenix told her as they started towards her place.  "That was so cool!  I can't wait to tell everyone what you can do!"

"Whoa!" Neo stopped abruptly and knelt down to her eye level.  "Phoenix, what you saw has to be a secret.  If people knew what I can do, it could get me in a lot of trouble."

"Oh..." Phoenix said with wide eyes.  "I promise, I won't tell anyone!"

Neo grinned at her, "That's good.  I'd hate to be where your brother is right now."

"Are you going to marry my brother?"

Neo's mouth dropped open, "What?"

"You were kissing him.  When Mama kissed Lord Sixth, they got married."

"Oh... well... I..."  She couldn't believe a four-year-old made her incapable of speaking.  "Well, Phoenix... I'm not sure..."

"Neo!" Sarah's voice reached her hearing, and she almost praised the ancients at the interruption to the uncomfortable conversation.

She straightened before turning towards her friend who was moving her way rather quickly.  Kakashi looked amused as he followed along behind her.  Sarah grabbed her by the arms when she reached her and looked her over critically.
