The Mind of a Beast

Sarah stared up at the beast that stood above where she was standing.  Her feet and legs were frozen in the water that almost reached her hips.  With each stomping of its massive feet, she would stumble about.  To say that she was terrified was an understatement.  She had never seen anything like Isobu in the flesh.  During the war, she had been far from the battlefront.  Melissa had told her of what the beasts all looked like but seeing one in the flesh was a completely different experience.

"Please, don't do this!" she screamed up at it.  "The Leaf didn't do this; it was one man acting on his own.  You're doing HIS bidding if you destroy the Leaf!"

"Naruto promised that we would be free!" Isobu roared, once more stomping the ground in his fury.  "I shall destroy what he loves most for this betrayal!"

"No!  You weren't betrayed!" she screamed again.  "Look at me!  We killed the man that did this to you!  I swear by all that I hold dear we didn't betray you!"

The beasts massive eye swiveled down towards her before his face suddenly came down at her.  She jumped back as his jaw snapped only inches in front of her, his hot breath blowing her hair back from her face.  His voice so loud that her ears hurt from the close proximity.

"Humans... your kind have enslaved us for centuries... made promises that were broken.  Used us for their will.  I will never believe your kind!"

Sarah was not sure where she got the courage to continue speaking but her mind was working fast as she faced the beast. "Think logically.  Why would the Leaf put you in me without a seal?  The man who did this wants you to destroy the Leaf.  He wanted revenge on it... and on my son.  You are inside me, please... surely you can look into my memories."

The beast growled loudly, sending a shiver down her spine.  He then abruptly looked away from her.  "If this is true, why is Naruto now here to battle me?"  She gasped as a window opened in the ceiling above and she could see Naruto landing in front of her view.  He was glowing bright yellow and his eyes were narrowed.

"Isobu, stand down!" he called out to him.  "This is a misunderstanding, believe it!"

Kakashi cursed as the water suddenly shifted coarse like a giant hand to swing out at Naruto.  It was a nightmare watching as Naruto met the attack with a force of his own.  It was surreal watching Sarah moving in ways similar to Naruto, the two beasts now clashing.  He looked over at Orion who was watching with his mouth hanging open.  He tightened his hand on the sealing paper as he yelled at his son-in-law.

"Orion, you have to get me next to her.  I can temporarily stop this if I can reach her."

He looked at him with a shocked expression, "Kakashi, you'll be killed trying!"

"If we don't stop her, we will lose her forever.  Naruto will have to kill her if we can't subdue the beast long enough to get her to Tsunade who can seal her properly!"

Orion stared at him for a long moment before giving a nod of his head.  He narrowed his eyes on the ridge above before raising his hand.  Kakashi jumped through the portal as soon as it opened.

Sarah had continued to yell up at Isobu but he was no longer listening to her as he fought with Naruto.  She gasped as she saw Kakashi suddenly in the middle of the entire thing.  Isobu swung a massive blast of water in his direction that he evaded barely, landing in a crouch.

"Sarah!  You have to fight him!" he yelled at her.

Was he kidding?  What did he think she had been trying to do all this time?  She felt a year of her life leave her when he was suddenly grabbed in a bubble of water.  "NO!  Don't kill him!"
