Ciel and Y/N had been sitting in a comfortable silence for quite some time. The both of them weren't too keen on discussing why Y/N had been out so late last night and who she found herself in the company of. Thankfully breakfast and the newspaper had provided enough distractions for the two nobles, and Ciel never asked Y/N a single question about her night out. "Well? How is he doing?" Ciel asked in regards to Snake, breaking the silence that had settled.

"I believe it will take some time to train him," Sebastian told his Master as he collected the dirty dishes sitting on the table. "I do hope he is quick to learn."

"Well, you do excel at making someone quick to learn, don't you?" Ciel smirked as he shot a side glance over to Y/N. Both she and Earl Phantomhive himself had found themselves to be forcefully transformed in a matter of days, from nothings to somethings. Snake would be of no issue to Sebastian.

"I can still hear your 'critiquing' ringing loud and clear through my skull," Y/N muttered as she sipped on her morning tea. "You'll have him changed from circus freak to Phantomhive footman in no time, won't you?"

"Yes... Is how I should like to reply, but..." Sebastian trailed off with a smug grin. "My teaching abilities are nothing much of which to speak if either of your dancing skills are anything to go by."

Ciel just huffed as he hid behind the newspaper he was holding and Y/N rolled her eyes. "I thought I did rather well for someone who had never danced like that before." The fact that Y/N added 'like that' made Sebastian wonder what 'other' type of dancing she could be referring to, and if he even wanted to know.

"Look at this," Ciel mumbled as he tapped Y/N on the shoulder and pointed to the front page of the paper he had been hiding behind. "The dead return to life..."

"The Karnstein Hospital makes miracles happen," Y/N read aloud as she scanned over the paper. Under the bold heading, there was a fuzzy picture of what appeared to be a shocked family standing at the foot of a coffin with a 'revived' woman sitting upright inside. "Well that's certainly not right."

"Is something wrong?" Sebastian asked, Ciel just sending him a glare, still offended.

"No, not at all," Ciel replied as he went back to reading the article.

"Wait!" A muffled cry came from outside the dinning room, catching the attention of both Sebastian and Y/N. "No! You can't just barge in! You can't!"

"Hi there, Lord Earl, Lady Y/N!" Lau loudly called as he barged right into the room, swinging the doors open and waltzing right in with Ran-Mao and Mey-Rin in toe. "I trust you two have been well?"

"Lau?" Ciel sputtered, almost dropping the morning's paper.

"What are you doing here?" Y/N sighed.

"I was hoping to help myself to breakfast, but you've already eaten?" Lau sounded like a kicked puppy and not like a man who had not only not been invited to breakfast, but who had also technically broken in and trespassed.

"What in blazes are you doing here-"

"Oh?" Lau cut off Ciel, noticing Sebastian was standing maybe arms length to his left. "Didn't you die the other day?"

"Crazy, how quickly he manages to recover from such an ailment," Y/N said calmly as Sebastian just smiled along.

"Listen when I'm talking to you!" Ciel seethed. "What business could you possibly have with us at this hour?" The Earl leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms with a huff. "Surely you didn't come all this way just for a handout of breakfast?"

To that, Lau just flashed Ciel and Y/N his classic close-eyed smile, Ran-Mao hugging onto his arm and laying her head on his shoulder.

"Good to see you."
