TW: Mentions of alcohol, revival of the dead and human trafficking

They had hardly been on the Campania for a day, and Lizzie's mother had already taken her toll. Sebastian and Snake had both had their hair thoroughly slicked back with so much oil Y/N could clearly see her reflection, while Y/N and Ciel were using manners like there was no tomorrow. The table the two families were sharing had become a battleground. It had become Lizzie's mother and brother versus Ciel and Y/N. Had Lizzie and her father joined in on the invisible fight, the Phantomhives would've lost for sure, but thankfully those two remained oblivious to it all, both smiling like the sun.

"So we'll get to be together for the whole three weeks?" Lizzie asked as the two families finished up their lunches.

"Yes, that's right," Ciel confirmed.

"This will be our first time being together for so long!" Lizzie realized with pure joy. "You must escort me to the dinner parties, Ciel!" Elizabeth giggled with joy.

"I will, I will," Ciel assured her with significantly less excitement.

"I was going to be the one escorting her..." Edward grumbled as he glared at Ciel with pure hatred. Quite the opposite of his little sister.

"Well, perhaps you could do me the favor of helping me find an escort," Y/N interjected before Edward could jump across the table and strangle Ciel. Edward snapped his head to face Y/N so quickly she was afraid his neck had broken in half from the strain. "I was just being silly," Y/N muttered as Edward scanned her, head to toe. The young man must've decided he ultimately hated Ciel more than Y/N because his murderous gaze softened the smallest bit. "But if you would help give me some pointers on dancing," Y/N nervously continued to distract Lizzie's brother as Ciel and Sebastian began to whisper between themselves. "I'm afraid ballroom dancing isn't my forte yet."

"Really?" Although Y/N obviously wasn't as accustomed to wealth as anyone else at the table, she had hidden it reasonably well.

"Yes," Y/N was shooting looks between Edward and her own company. Edward didn't need to hear what Ciel and Sebastian were discussing about the meeting that was to take place in two days' time. "I'm afraid Sebastian's very thorough teaching method isn't working the best for me. That much was proven at Lady Elizabeth's and my Christmas ball."

A light seemed to go off in Edward's head. "Wait, are you the new Lady L/N Lizzie's told me about in her letters?"

"I am." Y/N wanted to bang her head on the table. Edward's tunnel vision at its finest. He had no clue about who she was until something involving Lizzie was mentioned.

"Then let me explain something to you!" Edward's fiery, burning look of hatred reappeared as he started into Y/N's eyes, trying to intimidate her to no avail. "If you so much as try to convince my sweet, innocent, little sister into doing something foolish, I'll have your head."

"Such tactics may work on Lord Ciel," Y/N calmly replied as she lazily took a sip of her tea. "But I assure you, Lord Midford, they will be of no use when used on me." That seemed to throw Edward for a loop because he recoiled the tiniest bit, clearly shocked by Y/N's reaction. "I've stared into the eyes of murderers and business men alike. They do not frighten me. So you, an innocent boy, would be wasting his time and energy trying."

Y/N hadn't been on the Campania for even a whole day and she was already exhausted. She and Ciel had two separate cabins, so the Lady had found herself flopped down on her back in bed all alone. A faint rocking could be felt every once in a while when the ship would come across a particularly rough group of waves, but aside from that it appeared to be a rather smooth ride. "Shame it has to end so soon," Y/N hummed to herself as she peered out the tiny window next to her bed.
