Make Memories With Me

~2 months later~

The past two months we have been touring all over Europe. My days consisted of twitcams, reading fan fictions, sitting idly in sound checks, and watching the same concert over and over again. I am really regretting not having many friends. Emma and I are getting along alright, but she is busy with the dances all the time. We very rarely get to talk.

Right now, I am hanging upside down on my bed and messing with my phone. We are driving to the airport to head over to America. Our first stop is New York City. We are spending a month there to account for all the interviews and just generally calming down all the traveling.

"Aurora!!" I hear dad call.

"Yeah?" I yell back.

"Are you ready to go?" He calls back.

"As ready as I'll ever be..." I mutter. I yell back slightly louder. "Yes!"

I slip off my bed and double check that I've packed everything. The bus comes to a stop so I quietly make my way out. Lately, I've been keeping completely to myself. I've only been speaking when spoken to.

The dreams didn't stop. Every night, I have another version of the same dream. They always feel so real. Of course, all of the guys have pressured me to try to open up and tell them, but I've never cracked. I guess, at this point, I'm just trying to make it. I'm just trying to survive.

I fling my bags over my shoulder and lean against the bus as the guys file out. I follow them in and Liam takes charge. He checks us in and we make our way through security. People look through all of my bags before sending me on my way. We hurry to an airplane and to first class seats.

The pilot gives a long spiel about emergency exits and all that. Finally, we take off. After we successfully make it into the air, I plug in my earbuds. "Six Degrees of Separation" by The Script comes on and I begin humming along. After a while, I begin to softly sing the lyrics. I settle comfortably in my seat at the back of first class.

Abruptly, the curtain between first and middle class is pulled back. I glance back and see a guy my age looking lost. I pull out an ear bud when he looks at me.

"Ermm, hi. I was wandering around looking for a restroom and I'm kind of lost. Do you know where I am?" He asks.

"Umm, first class." I say in a short and sweet manner. He groans.

"Ugh, I have no idea how to get back. Would you mind if I sat with you?" He asks. I sit up a little in my window seat and motion him into the seat next to me. He smiles thankfully. I go back to staring out the window, listening to my music. It had changed to "Bad For Me" by Megan and Liz. I sing very quietly along.

"You have a good voice." The boy comments. I smile.

"Thanks." I say. He grins.

"She speaks! Sorry, oh. Um, I'm Justin by the way." He introduces himself.

"Aurora." I say.

"Nice to meet you, Aurora. If you don't mind my asking, why are you heading to New York?" He asks politely.

"Long story. My adopted dad is in a band. His band is touring the US. I have to come, too. Hmm, guess the story wasn't that long..." I say. He smirks in amusement. "What about you?"

"Oh, I live in New York. I was visiting my Grandmother in Britain." He replies. I was wondering why he had an American accent. "So, how old are you?"

"15. You?"

"Just turned 16 last month." He grins.

"Do you live in New York City?" I ask.

"Yep! I actually stay in the hotel I work at." He says. "Do you know where you're staying?"

"No idea." I respond.

"Well, how long are you staying? Maybe we could meet up." He says.

"A month. And, I'd like that." I say with a smile. He smiles back. "Can I get your number?" I ask. He grins.

"HEY I JUST MET YOU. AND THIS IS CRAZY. BUT HERE'S MY NUMBER. SO CALL ME MAYBE!" He bursts into song. I giggle. Hold up, giggle?? Get a hold of yourself, Aurora! "Anyway, sure!" He says.

I roll my eyes and hand him my phone. He hands me his and I type in my number. The loudspeaker comes on as we hand each other's phones back. It tells us to put on our seatbelts and prepare to land. I obey and, soon enough, we've landed back onto the ground. We shuffle out of the plane and I wave bye to Justin. I follow the boys to a limo taking us to our hotel. I hop into the car and begin to gaze out of the window.

"Daydreaming, I see. About the boy on the plane, I assume?" Harry asks.

"What?" I ask.

"I guess you forgot that Nialler and I were in the row right in front of you. We heard everything." He says with a wink. He turns to Louis who is playing on his phone.

"Hey Lou! Your daughter had another boyfriend!" He says teasingly. Dad's eyes shoot up and towards me. I groan.

"I met this guy on the plane and we talked and exchanged numbers. There's nothing more than that." I say, annoyed that I had to explain myself. Dad looks at me doubtfully.

"I don't think so!" Harry sing-songs. I sigh heavily and throw my earbuds back in to drown them out.

We arrive at the hotel and I gather my bags. I take a step out and take a deep breath of the 100% American, big city air. I glance around at the towering buildings. Maybe, just maybe, I could actually make something out of this tour. Out of this life. Maybe I'll do something worthwhile or maybe even fun here.

Right then and there, I decide that NYC will hold some memories. After all, just like Dad says, "Live life to the fullest because everything else is uncertain."
