Liam sits down in the driver's seat and I sit in shotgun. We drive off to a gorgeous park. I look around and memories flood me. This is the park I would always come to to take my mind off of things. Off of my "dad." I look at the green grass and worn old gazebo and a smile stretches into my face.
"What are you thinking, babe?" Liam's voice snaps me out of my thoughts.
"I used to come here all the time. Back when I was still with my dad. It helped me clear my mind and gave me a little time to, umm, heal." I confess. Liam nods his head, listening.
"Well, I've come here quite a few times too. I come here whenever things between Dani and I get a little rocky or when we are about to go on tour. It's a sort of stress relieving kind of place." He says. I smile.
"Do you have a favorite spot?" I ask. His eyes seem to glow.
"Yea, I'll show you if you'd like." He says.
"I'd love to see! Then ill show you mine!" I exclaim. He chuckles and he walks towards the playground. He walks a little past the playground to a tree. I look around and notice several carvings in the tree. D+L. Liam waz here. And others were all scattered across the trunk. I grin.
"So, this is my spot. Where's yours?" He asks. I smile.
"well, mine takes a little effort to get to." I say.
"I'm game." He says. I laugh and rush to the place I know all too well. I look up and see my perch branch. I immediately begin to scurry up the tree, with Liam on the ground a little confused. I make it up to my spot and move over to make room for Liam. I pat the branch, signaling for him to climb up too. He cautiously looks at the tree before climbing up and joining me. I breathe in the sweet fresh air.
"this is nice." He says. I nod. Then I remember something. I reach into a hole in the trunk and pull out my old dusty leather notebook. I dust off the webs and different tree junk. I sigh, knowing I won't open it. Instead, I just slide it into my hoodie pocket.
"So, how is it being in a world famous boyband?" I ask.
"Well, it's an interesting experience. We get to travel the world, from one group of screaming fans to another. But each stop just makes me want to go say hi to them all. Take the time to really get to know them." He sighs. "But, unfortunately, that's not exactly possible. Anyway, enough about me. What do you think of the lads and I, honestly?"
"Well, you lot are quite the characters. But, you've quickly become the family I never had. Louis is the crazy dad just trying to keep everything under control, usually failing. You are the responsible older brother who helps when dad's tactics fail miserably. Zayn is the brother who likes to keep to himself but participates in the family antics just like the rest of them. Niall is the brother who is just constantly eating and is more like a younger caring brother than an older one, despite his age. And, Harry is like that one brother who is always cheeky and grinning and also can't seem to stay away from girls." I finish. He smiles like a madman.
"I am planning on telling the lads that." He says. I giggle.
"this oughta be interesting." I laugh.
We scurry down the tree and get back into the car, heading back to the flat. Liam slams the door open and proceeds to tell the lads what I'd said. I roll my eyes and just go upstairs. I throw off my hoodie, which makes an unusual thump. I ignore it and hop into bed, letting sleep encompass me.
*Harry's POV*
I head upstairs to get Aurora for dinner. I knock on her door a couple of times before opening it. I see she is asleep and go to shut the door but my eye catches on a brown beaten leather notebook. I slowly lift it up. Suddenly, she shifts in her bed. I hide the notebook behind me back.
"Harry?" She murmurs.
"Hey sunshine. Dinners ready." I say.
"Okay" she mumbles. I walk out of the room and put the notebook in my room. I know it'd be wrong to read it... But maybe I could just take a little peek? I sigh. It's dinner time. I couldn't read it now if I wanted to. I walk downstairs and take my seat.
*Aurora's POV*
I sit in the empty seat and am, again, served a smaller sized plate. This one is even smaller than before. I take a few bites then set down my fork.
"Aurora you need to eat." Dad says firmly.
"I'm not hungry." I lie again.
"Aurora, If you don't eat, then you'll get sick."
"I don't want to eat."I murmur.
"Well, you have to"
"but I'm not hungry." I say.
"For heaven's sake, Aurora. Eat your food." He snaps, hitting his fist on the table. The little motion twisted fear in my heart.
"I-I can't." I stutter.
"Yes you can! You choose not to because of something that happened a long time ago! You can't keep living in the past, Aurora! Grow up!" His voice raises but what hurts the most are his words.
"LOUIS!" Liam scolds. I jump up out of my seat, knocking over the chair in the process. I run to my room and lock the door behind me. I slide down the door and every insult I've ever been called begins to replay in my mind. I finger over my scars on my wrist and gulp. The feeling is starting again. I make sure the door is locked and rush into my washroom. I stumble around before I find what I'm looking for. A razor blade. I take a deep breath before bringing it down onto my skin, whispering the dreaded words. I continued until I had gone through the list twice. I toss the blade on the sinktop and hazily sling myself onto the bed, collapsing from the exhaustion and the pain
