I take a deep breath and walk over to dad sitting on the couch.

"Daddy?" I say quietly. He lifts up his head, now aware of my presence.

"Aurora..." He starts.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry for sneaking out. I'm sorry for going to a party without your permission. And I'm sorry for yelling. But I'm not sorry for Gavin. He's a really nice guy and I think you should meet him." I say. Dad looks at me with an unreadable expression.

"You're forgiven. I'm sorry too. And I suppose I should give this Gavin guy a chance." He says with a smile. I smile back. "Tell you what. Why don't you invite him over for dinner tonight?"

I smile widely.

"Okay! Thank you!" I squeal before running back upstairs. I stop when I see Liam walking down. Our eyes meet and I frown. I run up and hug him.

"I'm sorry, Liam." I say. He hugs me back and smiles.

"It's okay. I heard this Gavin guy is coming over?" He asks. My mouth drops.

"You were eavesdropping?" I ask. He looks around innocently. I laugh at him. He chuckles too.

"Anyway, yeah. He might be coming tonight. You get to meet him!" I squeal. His smile falters.

"Well, if he's as nice as you say, I'm sure we'll get along just fine." He says. I smile and continue up to my room. I grab my phone and dial Gavin's number. After a few rings, he answers.

"Hello?" He asks.

"Hey Gavin! It's Aurora. I was just wondering if you'd like to come over for dinner tonight?" I ask.

"Oh, uh... Tonight? With your dad an brothers?" He asks.

"Uh, yeah...." I say.

"Oh, umm I can't. Sorry. Maybe some other time." He says. A girl's voice rings out in the background.

"Who's that?" I ask curiously.

"Oh, that... That's my, umm, sister. Yeah." He says.

"Oh, uh okay. I guess I'll see you soon." I say unsurely.

"Okay bye." I click end and set down my phone, slightly disappointed.

Mostly my mind is just buzzing. Who was that girl? Calm down. It was just his sister. He never mentioned a sister before, though. Aurora! You're not even his girlfriend! You would have no right to be jealous anyway! I sigh and hop downstairs to tell dad that Gavin isn't coming
