Oleander was leaning against her car in the school parking lot. She was talking to Ian, who always went out of his way to park next to her, when she received a text message from Valerie.

“What was up in your math? I heard Rebecca lost her shizz.”

Oleander was preparing to respond when she saw Trina and Valerie approaching. Trina had been getting rides from Valerie to school since Rebecca refused to drive her, when Rebecca chose to attend school. Trina had been in a car accident shortly after receiving her learner’s permit and had not driven since.

“I don’t know she just started screaming. She said some weird stuff too.” Oleander told Valerie upon her arrival.

“What?” Ian said, feeling out of the loop which was normal for him when Oleander’s friends were around.

“Rebecca.” Oleander informed him.

“She was just sitting in the office giggling until they sent her home. That aid Yani told me.” Valerie added.

“I swear that girl is always in the office. She was there when I left during lunch last week.” Oleander mused.

“It’s actually just because we have lunch in the middle of the period. She aides that entire period.” Trina declared.

Oleander was not sure why that irritated her so severely but she had to try her hardest not to snap at Trina for her inability to properly contribute to a conversation.

“We should go to her house and check on her.” Ian suggested.

Oleander turned and brightly smiled at him. She adored how kind and considerate Ian was. He seemed sincerely good natured. “We should.” she agreed.

“Okay.” said a wary Trina, “but be warned. Her room has been a scary place lately.”

“Whatevs Trina we’re doing this. Can we all just pile into Victor?” Valerie asked Oleander.

“Of course we should just take my car. It’s the biggest.” Oleander agreed.

They all got into Oleander’s silver ford escape, Ian in the passenger seat and Trina and Valerie in the back next to an invisible Trent.

They entered Trina’s home quietly and quickly. They all followed Trina to Rebecca’s room, the door was shut and there was a slight humming noise emanating from behind it. Trina knocked lightly. “Re- Rebecca?” She stammered.

“It’s raining it’s pouring.

The old man is snoring.”  Rebecca sang.

“Are we going to go in there?” Ian asked sounding frightened.
