In Heaven, the concept of time does not exist. Actually, time only exists for those creatures, called humans, existing on the planet known as Earth, the creatures invented time as well as various other things such as Greed, Hatred, and Happiness. Whether or not happiness outside of Heaven is real is still up for debate, many of the guardians discuss this as they do their jobs. Guardians are the large workers and keepers of Heaven, Heaven of course being the earthling term for what is actually the fifth sector of the fourth quadrant of Epeace, a planet much like Earth in a different dimension. None of the Guardians of Epeace have been able to deduce why the Earths' dead teleport to their home planet, but they have chosen to believe that it occurs for some reason greater than their comprehension, so they guard their home from the Humans' seemingly inert habits of destruction and the protect the humans from their own sick need for self destruction.
The Guardians have large Raven like wings that are black like a dried oil stain smeared across hot concrete in sunlight, almost slick with prismatic reflections of rainbows. They do not speak, they only sing, and for some reason or another the humans refer to them as "Angels". None of the Guardians have been able to figure out how the humans even began to know of them, they do not understand much about humans, another favorite subject of their discussion is whether or not the humans were truly happy here or if they were merely content because they thought they were supposed to be. Existence on Epeace was dreadfully boring, it lacked all of the commotion of Earth, all it really consisted of was laying about and being lulled into relaxation by the sing-song language of the Guardians, it was all rather ironic considering the things they were saying, things that quite thankfully the visiting humans could not understand.
The Guardians experimented with numerous humans on trying to get them back which as far as they could tell always worked but with a pesky little side effect, due to the excessive rearrangement of atoms, particles, and other things that human beings are composed of that human science has yet to prove the existence of, (or better yet discover the presence of an unsee-able multicolored light, that's' hues were dependent on things such as personality traits, perceptions, emotions and other things making up what is incorrectly known to humans as a "Soul", even though it is much more than a soul, and slightly less than a purpose) that were once deceased on earth the humans were altered by the dimensional traveling. Most often the returned beings looked normal yet were translucent and only viewable by humans possessing a certain purity and innocence, such as children and adults of a questionable intellect. Children and adults being Earthling words for humans separated by age, age which was the amount of time a human had spent existing, but was most often a reminder of their lack of time remaining. The returned beings were what the Earthlings referred to as "Ghosts", "Imaginary friends", and sometimes,
"Boogeymen."
