When it came to personal affront, Gwn'itt was willing to be lenient with the four brothers; Merritt wasn't turned into a stone statue, and none of them were sent to the Elemental Plane of Fire because Gwn'itt knew they wouldn't survive the experience. It was only after remembering the pain and suffering of Gwn'itt's parting with Aleban that Gwn'itt was willing to take a rather permanent revenge on the four brothers. Except for Gareth's intervention, the four brothers would have died in horrible fashion.

Compare Psalm 94:1 with Leviticus 19:18 and Romans 12: 19. If you are so inclined, do a word search of the word 'vengeance' in the Bible. (A concordance, Bible app or Bible.com will help immeasurably!)

What did you find out from this?

Based on what you read, was Gareth justified in stopping Gwn'itt from what was intended?
