a/n: double update because I most likely will not update tomorrow! This one is short, but you can't complain, the last chapter was definitely the longest :-)
That evening was the first in forever that Calum and I hadn't gone home together. He and Mikey were going to "hang out," and by that, everyone knew they were just going to Mikey's to make out.
I was happy that it all worked out in Calum's favour, I was, but... It just didn't feel right. Not Mikey and him.
Honestly, I was just worried for Calum. He liked Michael a lot, and all they did today was make out. If that's what Calum had wanted, then fine, but I had a hunch that Calum wanted a lot more, but Michael didn't strike me as that interested.
I made my way home quietly, trying not to bump into anyone on the pavement and in the metro, focusing on my music and the homework I had to do when I got home instead of Calum's situation.
However, when I exited the metro, I got a new text from none other than Calum.
Calum: thank you so much Luke :) this wouldnt have happened w/out u
I rolled my eyes, and pocketed my phone. I wasn't in the mood to answer him.
Stepping into my apartment, I noticed that my mum was home. Joyfully, I walked into the living room, where she was sitting on the couch, typing away on her laptop.
"You're home!" I beamed, sitting down beside her.
"Why yes, I am," she chuckled.
I took her arm and draped it over my shoulders, leaning on hers and reading what she was typing.
A few minutes of silence later, she asked, "Where's Calum?"
"With his boyfriend, or whatever," I groaned, burying my face in her shoulder.
"I didn't know he had one."
"I don't think he does yet. They're just acting really... Couple-y. I don't think they're official."
"Ah. Who is it, do I know him?"
"Yeah," I sighed. "Michael."
She was quiet for a moment, and I raised my head to see that she was wearing a confused expression. "What?" I asked.
"Oh no, I was just thinking of what I need to add to this report," she answered, smiling at me.
I frowned, clearly not believing her, but I didn't press on. Instead, I kissed her cheek and got off the couch, grabbing my bag, and headed to my room. I threw my bag near my desk, and after putting on my music, sat down at my chair to do my homework. I didn't want to think of the way both Ashton and my mum looked at me, nor the anger flaring up inside me due to the fact that Calum was ditching me for none other than Michael, who didn't even like him nearly as much as Calum liked him. I felt bad for Calum, and I knew there was something I was repressing, but I was refusing to acknowledge it.
