We finally settled on going to Mikey's place straight from school. He lived in the same neighbourhood our school was in, which was why we hung out at his mainly.
Now, I knew Mikey and Calum were rather close, especially due to their weird sense of humour, but lately I had been noticing Calum acting friendlier than usual towards the purple and black haired boy.
Take right now, for instance. Ashton and I were sitting on the couch, while Mikey and Calum were on the floor, the pizza box separating the two. I noticed the way Calum would throw looks in Michael's direction, looks filled with something that was much more than simple friendship.
I made a mental note to ask him about it before brushing it off and directing my attention back to the movie. We were watching some horror movie and quite frankly I didn't care enough to catch the name of it. It really wasn't all that scary, just another movie about haunted dolls and abandoned houses.
When the movie ended, Michael stood up and turned to Ashton, glaring at the sandy haired boy. "Ashton, I've decided that you're incapable of choosing even a decent movie."
"What?" Ashton's eyes widened, before he pointed to Michael's tv. "That was so good!"
Calum and I exchanged a glance, trying not to burst out laughing at Ashton's childish tone and Michael's disapproving head shakes.
"I'm going to go get a drink," I announced, muffling my laughter as the two of them continued to argue about how shitty Ashton's tastes are.
"I'll come with you," Calum agreed, getting up from his spot on the floor and following me to the other side of the room, where the kitchenette was.
I opened the fridge and pulled out a bottle of Coke, handing it to Calum. We poured ourselves two glasses and stood against the counter, watching Michael and Ashton get into a wrestling match.
"All this because Ashton can't accept the fact that all the movies he chooses are terrible," Calum scoffed, and I laughed before nudging him.
"By the way, Calum... What's going on between you and Michael?"
I expected him to look at me weirdly and tell me that I was delirious. Instead, he just coughed a little, moving his face away from me. "Um, nothing man."
Grinning mischievously, I moved around so that I could see his clearly red face. "I knew something was up! You've gotta tell me."
"Not here," he hissed, his eyes flitting away from mine to where Ashton and Michael were currently slumped on the couch, breathing heavily. "I'll tell you later."
"Later when?"
"You're staying over at my place anyways, so I'll tell you there!"
I grinned, accepting that as good enough, excited to hear all about what Calum had to say.
