I was mulling the whole thing over in class that afternoon. Had he said 'I'm sorry', 'I'm happy', or something completely different?

I was so engrossed in my thoughts that I didn't even notice the bell ring until Mikey tapped me on the top of the head. "Come on, Pink Panther. Don't wanna sleep here, do you?"

I mumbled something as I packed away my books and swung my bag over my shoulder, following Michael out of the classroom. I wasn't surprised to find Calum leaning on the wall opposite the door, seemingly waiting for someone, but I was surprised at what happened next. I mean, after the kissing the two of them shared.

"Lukey," he called out just as I was going to walk away, and I turned to see him kiss Michael's cheek before running over to me. "You should come sleep over."

"Tomorrow's Thursday, Cal," I frowned. How could this be a good idea?

"So?" He shrugged, grinning widely. We exited the school, and he bounced around on the sidewalk, before coming to a halt in front of me, causing me to stop. "Luke, we're practically already in college. Please, we haven't hung out in forever."

"We hung out yesterday."

Cal frowned, smacking me across the arm. "You know what I meant, asshole."

I thought about it for a minute as we walked silently down the familiar path to the metro station. "Fine," I sighed finally, looking over at him. "Only if you come with me to get my stuff from home."

"Deal," he grinned, and I couldn't help but smile myself. Oh, what this boy is getting me into...

----

It couldn't have been later than 4am when I woke up to an odd sound. I was a rather heavy sleeper, having grown up and lived my whole life in a busy city, so the fact that someone talking seemed to have woken me up was weird.

Deeming it just something from outside, I rolled to my side and tried to fall back asleep before I heard it again, this time louder.

I frowned, sitting up on the sleeping bag and trying to locate where it was coming from before another noise made itself heard much louder than the previous ones, and... Oh. It was coming from Calum's bed.

Edging over to him, I could tell he was still fast asleep by the light shining from the lamp post outside through the blinds. It illuminated his peaceful face... Which, actually, wasn't all that peaceful.

I noticed his body was moving, and I realised with wide eyes what was going on when he let out a whimper. Yes, a fucking whimper.

"Oh god," I murmured, promptly laying back down, my back facing him, and shutting my eyes tight, willing all this to just be a dream.

But of course it wasn't. Calum Hood, my best friend and the guy I just so happened to be head over heels for, was having a dirty dream not even two meters away from me. And he was being rather loud about it.

His whimpers and groans were doing absolutely nothing to help my state of mind. I bit down on lip, trying to keep down any whimpers I had coming myself, before the noises abruptly stopped.

I could hear Calum breathing heavily and the blankets shuffle a little, and then I heard the sound of my name being rasped out into the calm of the night. I stayed quiet, making sure not to move as I shut my eyes tight, evening out my breathing to make it seem as though I was sleeping.

"Fuck," Calum breathed out, sounding both annoyed and relieved at the same time. I thought this meant the noises would be over, and I was about to turn onto my back when they started up once again.

My eyes snapped open. Calum wasn't dreaming anymore: he was fully awake and getting off shamelessly, not knowing that I was lying awake so close to him.

I wondered what would have been different if he knew I was awake, but I had a hunch that, if he had known, he wouldn't have moaned out my name at the end of his activities.
