"I cheated on you!"

Ashton's and my heads snapped up, our eyes wide and jaws dropped. Michael could be heard from a mile away, possibly, though he was just a few meters away from us.

Calum and Michael were standing almost in the middle of the cafeteria. They had been on their way back to our lunch table when something must've happened, judging by Michael's exclamation.

"Holy shit," Ashton breathed out, hurriedly shoving his glasses on his face to watch what was going on in front of us. "Plot twist!"

I, on the other hand, couldn't say a word. Michael was cheating on Calum?!

What's worse, the rest of the room had fallen practically silent, everyone's eyes burning into Michael's denim jacket. This school was constantly hungry for gossip, like many others, and Michael's confession was only fuel to the fire.

Calum frowned, taking Michael's wrist and pulling him out of the cafeteria just as I stood up. The room was surly for another beat until it erupted in chatter, mainly about how cute they were at the dance and 'oh my god, how could this happen?!'

Ashton looked up at me, before nodding. "Yeah, go see what's going on."

Gulping, I began making my way towards the exit, ignoring the eyes following my every move. I knew I was raising eyebrows, but I didn't care. There was major damage to control.

As I stepped out of the cafeteria, I heard the two of them arguing loudly in a hall. Stepping closer, I listened in, not wanting to be seen.

"It was supposed to be a one time thing, I - I'm sorry, Cal."

"It's... It's fine, actually." Calum's voice was strained. "I- I-"

"You good?" Michael asked, his voice laced with concern.

I closed my eyes, biting at my lip ring as I held my breath and waited for Calum to confess. "I-" I heard him chuckle and nearly groaned. "I cheated on you, too."

"You did?" There was no denying the surprise in Michael's voice. "With- With who?"

"I don't want to throw him under the bus..." Calum sighed.

They were quiet for a moment before I heard a gasp, most likely from Michael. "Do I know him?"

I didn't know what happened next, but Michael practically shouted, "OH MY GOD, IS IT LUKE?!?!" and I had to bite my lip to stop myself from bursting out into laughter.

When Calum didn't answer, Michael yelled again, a little quieter this time. "It is Luke! I knew it!"

"Dude, what the fuck?! Stop yelling!"

"I knew you guys were going to happen eventually," Michael announced and I could just picture his smug face. "Also, Luke, I know you're listening."

My eyes widened, and I stepped out from behind the wall, into the hallway. "How did you know?" I asked, looking from his smug expression to Calum's blushing face, and back.

Michael simply pointed to a display case to my right, and I smacked myself on the forehead. He must've caught my reflection in the glass.

"So, you two, finally," Michael grinned, crossing his arms proudly. "I knew it was gonna happen."

I looked over at Calum, and he smiled, shyly taking my hand in his. "Yeah," Calum murmured, looking down, and he was blushing so much, his cheeks were basically the colour of my hair.

"Well, I'm actually really glad about this whole situation," Michael smiled, before throwing an arm around my shoulders. "Come on, let's go back to the cafeteria."

And so we stepped in, Calum and I hand in hand while Mikey had his arm around my shoulders, and let me tell you, I had never seen so many confused faces staring up at me in my whole life.

a/n: this is ending very soon! Thank you all for reading. You're all so amazing and I love you so much!
