a/n: why is this legal ajshgcjsjdb (also this is the last chapter, gonna be the epilogue after this) (I'd warn you for smut but I was feeling lazy so there's nothing much)

Calum and I had been walking home, hand in hand, when the question came to my mind. "Who did he cheat with?"

Calum just shrugged in response. "Hell if I know. He said it was some guy on the fencing team, didn't really elaborate."

"Oh... Don't you want to know?"

"Not really," he shrugged, and squeezed my hand. "Doesn't really matter anymore."

I grinned, and he grinned back.

When we reached Calum's building, he stopped in front of the door, looking at me hopefully. "You wanna come up?"

This time, it was my turn to shrug. "Yeah, sure. Let me text my mum, though."

I pulled out my phone to do so, while he searched through his bag for his keys. Having sent the text, I pocketed my phone, and followed Calum inside and into the elevator. He punched the 5, before moving back to lean against the wall of the elevator, giving me a dopey smile.

"What?" I asked, raising my eyebrows at him.

"Nah, nothing." He shook his head, and I just shrugged.

The door opened and we filed out, walking to the familiar door labelled 5B, and I waited for Calum to open it and let us in.

There was no one home, which didn't really surprise me, seeing as his older sister was studying abroad, and both his parents worked. We threw our practically empty bags on the floor near the breakfast counter, before heading straight to his bedroom.

Calum took a seat on his bed, and I was about to sink into his beanbag when he motioned for me to come sit next to him. With a shy smile, I did so, and he pulled me into his arms, laying back against the headboard. I was sitting between his legs, my head on his shoulder, while he had his arms around me and fingers locked together.

"Hey Lukey?" he murmured, lips pressed against my crown.

"Yeah?" I asked, tilting my head up slightly to look at him.

"We should be boyfriends."

I raised an eyebrow, giving him an amused expression as I sat up straighter. "Is that your way of asking me out?"

"Yeah," he shrugged, a smile tugging at his lips.

"Nearly 10 years of friendship, and you chose that as an acceptable way to ask me out," I scoffed jokingly, but leaned in and kissed him softly. "But yeah, I think we should be boyfriends, too."

"That settles it then, boyfriend," Calum giggled stupidly, and I just rolled my eyes at him, leaning in to kiss him again.

Soon enough, though, I was straddling him and he was tugging at my pink hair as I bit and pulled at his lip ring. I have no idea how it got so heated, but I wasn't complaining.

Calum pulled away, breathing heavily for a moment before reattaching his lips to my neck, kissing down the length of it as his hands began roaming down my body.

I hummed in pleasure, fiddling with the hem of his shirt. "Take it off, Cal."

He moved away from my neck with a smirk, reaching behind him and pulling off his shirt before tugging at mine. Lifting my arms, I helped him take it off, and once it was on the floor beside his, he pulled me flush against his chest, his lips once again pressed up to mine.

But as his hands began trailing down to my pants, a sudden surge of nervousness overwhelmed me.

"Wait, Cal," I stuttered out, moving away from the kiss. Placing one palm flat on his chest, I caught my breath before looking at him worriedly. "I- Can we slow down?"

He smiled reassuringly, taking my hand off his chest to kiss my knuckles. "We're not doing anything you don't wanna do, baby."

I bit my lip to contain a moan. I didn't think a simple nickname like that would turn me on so much. "It's just- I never thought- I've never been with a guy before... You know that..."

"I do," he murmured, kissing my lips sweetly. "That's why we're going to take this as slow as you need it to be."

I smiled, wrapping my arms around his neck and pulling him in for a sweet kiss. Both our lips were curled into smiles, and his hands were on my hips, thumbs drawing little circles on my skin.

I pulled my lips away and he pouted, but I just giggled as I trailed kisses along his jaw and down his neck, stopping at the crook of it to bite at the skin gently, just enough to leave a faint mark.

Calum's voice was surprisingly breathless when he mumbled, "I can't believe this is happening."

I smiled, my face still pressed against his neck, before stating, "Imagine how I feel. Never thought you'd leave Michael for me."

"You made it so easy to fall in love with you, baby. It was the only thing that made sense."

My breath caught in my chest, and I looked up at him. "In love?"

He bit at his lip ring nervously. "Well, we've been best friends for so long. I do love you, Lukey, and maybe it's not quite there yet, but it's starting to get equally romantic as it is platonic."

Grinning, I leaned in for yet another kiss as I ran my hands down his chest. I didn't think I could ever get sick of kissing those soft lips. "Call me that again," I asked against his lips, kissing him once more to keep him from seeing the blush painting my cheeks.

"Call you what?" He asked, not bothering to detach our lips.

"Baby," I whispered, pulling away to hide my face in his neck.

"Oh," Calum laughed, before dropping his voice to a low murmur, "You like that, hunh? You're so fucking cute, baby."

I whined, both surprised and embarrassed at how much I liked hearing those words fall from his mouth, and bucked my hips up almost unintentionally. Calum laughed again, the sound lacking mockery and sounding rather fond, and brought his hand down to the growing bulge in my jeans, adding slight pressure as he palmed me through my jeans.

I gasped, biting at his neck. He moved his hands to the button of my jeans before asking gently, "Is this okay?" which I just answered to with an enthusiastic nod.

The rest of the night went by much too fast, but that didn't matter, because I knew we had many more to come, with even more intimate things awaiting us. We fell asleep that night wrapped up in one another, our lack of clothes matching our lack of inhibitions, and I think the part I liked the best was when Calum pressed his lips against my forehead, breathless and sleepy, and mumbled a "I can't believe this is happening... You mean so much to me. Sleep well, baby." It was a bit jumbled and his words were slurred but I didn't care. I couldn't believe this was happening, either, and I knew it would take me a long while to get used to this.
