Chapter 43: Ark Noah

Cold... I'm cold.

Where am I?

Last I remember was I ran into my room then there was a flash of light and.

Something happened I saw something I couldn't comprehend and lost consciousness.

So was I still out cold?

Hmmmmm

"Hey Excella are you there? Excella?" But unfortunately I was met with no response.

I was alone in here... wait was I even asleep?

...

Well seems like it but I guess my brain was still functioning as normal.

Hmmmm

Mimi are you there.

"Bui" I heard the quiet but noticeable voice of my spirit guardian.

Vivi you don't sound very good. Are you alright?

"Buiii" she told me she was feeling weak.

What she could tell was that we weren't in Gehna anymore but she was just as confused as I was.

So what should I do.

"Bui bui"

Try to get some rest? But what if someone attacks us while we're in this mess?

"Bui"

Huh... yeah I guess it is a little too late to worry about that.

Well she was right there's nothing I could really do other than try and rest up.

"—- .... —//" I could hear words being spoken but couldn't understand any of their meaning.

I opened my eyes to see an unfamiliar sight. This room was fairly dark but seemed almost shiny. There was also a dim purple light in the distance... wait this light wasn't fire and I didn't sense any magic used either. What's going on here?

I tried to sit up but noticed something was wrong. There was something stabbed into my arm and a weird mask on my face. It was... forcing air into my lungs?

Was this some sort of medical tent?

My suspicions only grew as I saw some screen near the tubes connected to the object stabbed into my arm. There was a line going across the screen. It'd jump up and down then beep every second or so.

Finally I heard the voices again much clearer this time

"Still watching the Avosian huh?"

"Well our scouts finally returned after arriving on Avos and finding us a potential island area to settle in for a while. Then not even 5 minutes later a native child shows shows up collapsed on the floor... so yeah a lot of people are kinda confused at the moment and there's a few of us concerned about someone wanting to dissect the Avosian."

"Mad doctor?"

"Yep."

"How the hell has he not been put into solitary confinement yet?"

"Politics. He's the son of one of the high ranking officials so he gets away with anything."

They were talking but I wasn't sure what they were saying. Though I'll admit the language did sound familiar. Almost like... English?

Were they speaking dads language?

I thought back to that little alphabet dad made for Sophie and I. Remembering how different letters make different sounds.

Unfortunately I didn't have much time to think before some overhead lights came on and some people came into my room. I opened my eyes to look at them and much to my surprise they looked normal. Well mostly anyways

They seemed to have different looking outfits from anything I'd seen and there were weird accessories on their bodies that looked somewhat like Metal... sort of like the rest of this room now that I think about it.

I looked the people dead in the eyes. I didn't know who they were but I didn't intend to show them any fear.

"Ah good she's awake. Contact Alans and Harris. Let them know the Avosian is now awake." He instructed another man that gave some sort of Salute before walking away

The man then turned back to me giving... a smile?

"Hello little Miss Twilis. Welcome to the Ark Noah."

Sorry for the much shorter chapter I've had to type this up on my phone when I can between cleaning up from a hurricane, being sick, and a threat of a school shooting. It's been a week.

I'm not sure when the next main chapter will be out but I do have a few bonus/world building chapters that I may start releasing soon. Also this story is almost a year old now... that's crazy
