Chapter 7: why did you kill me

I shouldn't have said those words but I did. I couldn't take them back now and I wouldn't be able to return to the happy life I once had. I screwed up but there was no turning back now. I stared Lisia directly in the eyes as she looked confused and terrified at what I just said. Though I suppose I couldn't blame her wouldn't anyone be surprised if their kid not even old enough for school was saying they killed them.

"I remember it well you and... Caius. You held me down with your magic while her shoved the blade through me. I remember the fire burning me from the inside out. I remember all of the agony I felt." I stopped to catch my breath and at which point Lisia finally got a word in

"...Excella?" I could hear her say in a hushed voice.

Yep the vile witch was back and she was the little girl you gave birth to. How tragically ironic

"Why... why did I have to keep my memories?!? Why did I have to be your no... why did I have to be the daughter of the two people that killed me?!? WHY LISIA?!? WHY?!?" I could feel my voice becoming unsteady as tears began flowing out of my eyes. Everything was now a beyond blurry mess and I barely noticed the dark aura surrounding me or the shaking of the building until it grew violent.

I heard what sounded like words but I was too far gone to hear anything. Heheh maybe I'd cause some damage and give everyone a good scare before I died this time. I would be getting a bit of my revenge after all.

Why does it feel so wrong?

I couldn't believe it but from what Charlene told me and what I just heard from Lilian I could only come to the conclusion that she was Excella.

I was hit with the Grimm reminder of my failure to save her. When she created that orb of darkness and began sacrificing her very soul for one last strong attack... all I could do was sit there and watch as Caius had to Mercy Kill her.

But from her perspective I discarded her. The pain and suffering she must have been feeling combined with my betrayal. She went through so much during her last days.

"WHY LISIA! WHY?!?" I heard Lily cry out a voice filled with sadness and a jumbled mess of emotions.

Unfortunately I couldn't simply hug her and attempt to comfort her as the ground itself began shaking and darkness began surrounding her.

Oh no oh nonononono. She's doing it again she's going to unleash her magic again but regardless of how strong she was as Excella she was now Lilian a three year old girl that would in no way be able to withstand expelling all that power.

No. I won't let it happen

I failed to save Excella but I won't fail to save Lily. She may detest me forever but I didn't care. She was my little girl and I would save her no matter what.

I used time magic on myself to speed my own time up then immediately threw a space field around the area to hopefully contain the damage. I could feel her dark aura begin to last out even scratching me a few times but it was nothing to me. I kept the field up and got to work attempting to help Lily.

I didn't have light magic so I could cancel out the darkness but I could at least force open a hole in the magic build up. So I'd just have to relieve the pressure and keep the aura from hurting me too bad.

"Everything is going to be ok Lily. Mommy's here." I said in an attempt to comfort her but unfortunately I think my words fell on deaf ears.

The shakes began to get more violent I could hear crashes in other rooms as shelves and whatnot fell over but then the worst thing happened.

The ceiling was about to collapse in top of Lily.

"LILY!" I yelled out as I jumped forward some of her magic cut into me as a grabbed her to move her out of the way

*crash*

Pain... lots of pain.

Part of the ceiling had collapsed and I was simultaneously crushed and impaled. I could tell without looking these wounds would be fatal. I suppose this was my punishment for what happened to Excella.

I looked down to see my daughter in my arms. A look of shock and surprise on her face.

"Why Lisia?" She asked me

I didn't have the strength to answer her so I simply did my best to ignore the pain and give her a gentle smile. I'd think the why should be obvious. You're my little girl Lily I'd do anything for you.

"Please... don't die... Mo..." I could here her voice pleading but I'm sorry Lily I won't be able to grant you that request.

I used the last of my strength to look my daughter in the eyes and give her one last hug.

"...mommy... MOMMY!" She yelled out

So she was calling me mommy. Heh even before the attack she was always so formal calling us mother and father. Mom and Dad if we were lucky. Crazy as it is I'm glad

I'm so sorry Lily.

My vision was growing dark... this was the end

Mommy loves you now and forever. These 3 years with you and your father were the happiest of my life.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" I heard her scream and suddenly the darkness became engulfed in a blinding light.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand that's the chapter hooo boy this one was a ride to write up. I think there will be one or two more chapters uploaded before I go back to focus on my other stories but for now thank you for reading and hope you all enjoyed.
