"She's dead." I said, his face turned expressionless. I didn't believe the tears that followed. Yea he was my family, he was my blood, but honestly I had no pity what so ever for him. He stepped back and looked up at the sky. Tears were overflowing his eyes and were crashing on the ground. Usually I would hug him and comfort him, but why would I do that. He was the reason all this had happened in the first place. Rebbecca was his fault. I knew that lying to Victor wasn't a great idea, but he had done enough to ruin Carolyn's life. I turned around to see the girl that Vic was with, she was older, and the resemblance to Carolyn was unbelievable. She had a few hickeys near her chest, I looked back at Vic he also had one on his neck.

"You're a pathetic bastard." I scolded at him. "How dare you! You fucked some bitch while Carolyn was dying!? And now you're here... Crying?" I was angry, I lost control and I slapped him.

"You have no shame! She hasn't even had a full day dead and you're out there hooking up with older woman!? You're such a piece of shit." I couldn't stand the sight of him. He made me sick. I knew that the lie I had just spoken was for the good of my best friend, even if she did awaken from the coma, Victor would never find out. I got in my car and when I looked to see of victor had gone back with his whore, I saw him fall to his knees. It hurt me to see him, but it hurt more that he almost go my friend killed.

I drove all the way to St. Austin, when I got there the doctor had news for me.

"We weren't able to reach her mother, but we have good news." My heart lot up a bit.

"Carolyn reacted today she can move her fingers, were not sure if she does it or if it's just her muscles. We have hope that soon she'll awaken." I had to inform her mom, it was weird that she hasn't answers the calls from the hospital, so I drove to her.

I reached the little house where Carolyn and I used to play outside. I walked to a tree that had our initials carved on it. I remembered this was our pact, to be sisters forever. I saw Mrs. Guerrero sitting on the porch, she had a few albums on her lap. I walked towards her. She was crying.

"Carolyn was 5 in this picture. She was so excited for her baby brother." She showed me a picture where she was pregnant and Carolyn was sleeping on her stomach.

"My baby died two months later." She closed the album.

"Mrs. Guerrero, Carolyn is doing great. She can move her fingers!" Her eyes lit up.

"She awakened!?" She got up and smiled.

"No... Not yet but the doctor has hope." I said, the little glimmer in her eye disappeared. She sat back down.

"I didn't want to answer the phone because I'm scared. I don't want them to tell me to go because my daughter just died." She said fighting the tears that were building up in her eyes.

"If you don't want to answer the phone, I can keep you informed.. I mean if you want me to.?" She smiled.

"Thank you. Thank you so much for being a sister to my daughter. Thank you for helping me and her in so many ways. She's lucky to have a real friend like you." I smiled.

"No, thanks for having such an amazing daughter. I wouldn't be who I am if It wasn't for Carolyn. You raised her well." She looked at me and held my hand. She weeped.

"If I die before Carolyn wakes up, I want you to take care of her as your sister." She looked away.

"What, why do you say that?" She pulled out an envelope from her purse and handed it to me, It read:
