chapter 22

Nicks pov

A couple days later I'm still trying to figure everything out. I haven't told my mom but I think she knows something's off. I sit down and lean my head on my arm on the table. I sigh and start to think.

"Are you alright nicky" my mom asks as she sits down next to me

"I've been better" I smile

"Talk to me" she says

"I've lost her"

"Wait lost who I'm not following"

"Y/n. I kinda said yes to going on a date with imogen"

"Thays good at least now your going on your first date" my mom says trying to make me have a better mood

"Well that's the thing. I'm err well I'm dating y/n and she heard me say yes and I didn't want to say yes I was just peer pressured and now I've told y/n I'd fix everything and I've tried to talk to imogen but she just won't listen and-" I ramble on

"Just calm down. I like y/n more than imogen anyway so thats a good start. But what you should do is message imogen and tell her you want to meet up and explain everything" she states

"Thanks mom" I smile

I hug her and run upstairs. I sit on my bed and start to message imogen

Hi imogen. I was wondering if we could meet up today. I need to talk to you about Saturday...

Sure!!!
Wait ... Oh. Yeah that's fine. Let's meet at the park near yours.

I turn off my phone and put on my shoes. I go downstairs and see nellie looking bored. I smile at her and get her lead.

"Walkies" I say and she jumps up

She comes over to me and starts shaking her tail. I put her lead on and and we walk out the door. I look at y/n's house and sigh. Nellie looks and whines.

"Not yet nellie. Not yet" I say and we walk to the park.

We sit down at a bench and after a couple minutes I see imogen. She smiles sadly at me and I know she knows what I'm about to say. She sits down next to me and starts to stroke nellie.

"So um about saturday" I say

"Before you say anything I know you like y/n and I want you to be with her. I don't want to get in the way of you two. I do like y/n and I would love to get to know her and become her friend but even if we did go on the date on Saturday we still wouldn't have worked. I think it might be better if we just stay friends you get with y/n and I'll find someone who actually wants to be with me and not be forced" imogen explains and I smile

"Are you sure" I ask

"Of course I'm sure you two match and we don't match like that so go get your girl and be with her. But not right now I want to play with nellie" she says and starts to play with nellie

I laugh and smile to myself looking into the distance knowing I'm getting my y/n back.

After a while me and nellie walk home. I stop infront of y/n's again and nellie looks at me. I smile and her tail starts wagging. We walk up to the door and I knock on. On the ither side if the door I see y/n's mom.

"Hey nick. What's up" she asks

"Is y/n here" I ask

"No shes stopping over at Charlie's tonight"

My heart sinks knowing I won't be able to talk to her until whenever she gets back but I nod.

"Okay thanks" I say and walk to my house

I open the door and take nellie off her lead. She runs to the kitchen to get something to drink and I go upstairs. I sit on my phone and go onto mine and y/n's conversations seeing she is also online. I sigh and start to type.

Hi can we meet up tomorrow :)

Yeah sure where should we meet

At the park near our houses cause I'll need to take nellie for a walk

Okay will it be at 9

I get off my phone and close my eyes. I hear scratching at my bedroom door and I start to think. I go over and let nellie in and she runs to my bed. I laugh and go over to her.

"How would you like a friend" I say and she wags her tail

I give her a bit of fuss and then run downstairs while putting my shoes on.

"Mom can I get another dog. Its not for me it's going to be for y/n. She said she really want a pet but hasn't got one but we might have to look after it for a while cause y/n's mom doesn't like animals" I explain nervously

"Of course you can. I want you and y/n to be happy together"

"Thanks mom" I say

"Do you want me to take you"

"Go on then if you want to" I smile

She gets her shoes and takes me to an animal shelter. I look around at all the dogs and then I spot one. I go over and see a puppy sleeping.

"Awww I'll take this one" I say and pick the puppy up

"All that you need to know is the puppy is a male but isn't trained yet and you'll been to choose a name for him" the lady says

"Okay that's fine thanks"

I do the things I need to and buy the things I need and then i get back into the car. The puppy lies on my lap and I stroke him gently. We get home and I thank my mom. I go upstairs and bring all the stuff for the dog. I put him down on my bed and get changed ready to go to sleep. I go over to my bed and see nellie asleep snuggling up to the little puppy. I smile and get settled in my bed. I turn off the light and fall asleep.
