The next morning came with chirping birds and sun shining in through the windows. I was making myself bread for when I am out searching for what had spooked the Earth Dragon. No one here knows me well enough yet to know that I go out and observe wild wurmlings. I try not to disturb them, I only watch from a safe distance and draw them in my journal.

Wrapping up the food, I equipped my armor and packed the bread into the satchel. That should be everything I need, now to go out and explore the forest. I do hope I find what spooked the poor dragon so I may dispose of it. Once I had everything I needed, I walked out the door. My home was only a few minutes outside of town, a short commute.

Colored leaves fell from the trees above as I walked down the path, crunching underneath my boots. The sound brought relaxation and relief, the reason to why being unbeknownst. The autumn season always brought me a sense of joy and childish wonder, the upcoming winter did as well. Something about the small frozen flakes falling from the sky was always beautiful.

Entering the village, I kept to myself and minded my own while focusing on reaching the other side of town. If I had to guess, the Earth wurmlings reside there. The reason being the forest comes to a more open and rocky landscape. It was the perfect environment for them, starting there was my first hint.

While passing the locals I could see them looking in my direction and murmuring amongst themselves. This could be concerning, especially after the dragon incident the day before. Could be wanting to chop my head off at any given time or believing I was a witch of sorts for taming a dragon. For now I shall keep my guard up.

Walking through town was the simple part but avoiding people was not. Some citizens of the town attempted getting close to me, I would glance in their direction only for them to quickly look away and back off. Hm, disappointing almost. Children went silent when I passed them by, staring with large eyes. I would give them a smile as I neared the opposite side of town.

I stopped at the gateway leading out of the village, staring down the path through the forest. The morning sun shone through the branches and leaves, the shadows dancing on the ground. Nothing is more beautiful than the creations of nature. Walking may take some time, I may need a faster mode of transportation.

Thankfully this girl came prepared for that. I gave a whistle out toward the woods, a loud neigh following it. The sound of trotting was heard approaching fast. A gorgeous black horse with blue eyes, a saddle and saddlebags emerging through the trees, stopping in front of me. This was my loyal companion I had named Ava, and she was my closest friend.

"There you are girl, your hearing is immaculate. Try not to wander off so far."

My horse snorted. I chuckled and climbed up onto her back, grabbing her reigns and ready to go. But that was when a voice stopped us.

"Excuse me, young lady?"

I turned my head to see a woman approaching while carrying a basket of apples.

"Can I help you Ma'am?" I ask.

"Are you the Dragon Speaker?"

Truthfully, I was not expecting such a question. Dragon Speaker? Perhaps that is what the townsfolk were whispering to themselves about, I didn't care to eavesdrop.

"Dragon Speaker? Is that what everyone is calling me?"

The woman nodded.

"Almost everyone has heard about it, this village has never seen someone do what you did. I wanted to thank you personally for driving that dragon out."

"I did not drive it out, I told it to run. But you are welcome."

She then held out 2 apples to my horse and I.
