Kaden dismounted from his horse and approached me, reaching toward a bag and pulling out my journal.

"Lose something?"

I gasped and quickly snatched it away, holding it close against my chest. I must have dropped it when the wurmlings abducted me.

"You know where I found that? A cave chamber in Volcanic lands. Care to tell me what you were doing there?" He asked sternly.

I only rolled my eyes with a growl.

"You know me well enough by now. Well, I thank you for returning my horse and journal."

I took Ava by her reigns and turned away from him. But Kaden grabbed my arm.

"Skylana, do you understand how dangerous what you're doing is?" He asks.

I turned my head.

"Yes Kaden, I do. I observe and document the dragons, but I do not disturb them. That's truly the only reason I am still alive, I respect their boundaries."

"Is that why you defended an Earth Wurmling and are known as the Dragon Speaker? Why you entered the lair of Uldorak?"

My heart skipped a beat. By the Gods...Kaden knew about that? I knew it was only a matter of time until he discovered the truth, but I did not think it would be so soon.

"Did you read my journal?" I growl.

"Only the entry about you 'making friends' with Uldorak."

Fortunately it was only that one entry as he is a respectful man. But the fact he was rude when he mentioned Uldorak brought much anger. He was my friend, and Kaden knew nothing about him to pass his judgment. I pulled my arm away from him and went to storm off with my horse.

"Don't walk away from me." He barked.

I turned on my heel and faced the senior Dragon Knight with bared teeth.

"You know NOTHING about him!" I snarled.

The anger I could feel was more frightening than ever, and before it was quite terrible. Usually it would last only a few minutes in an argument and would be calm afterwards. But not now, it was only worsening and felt like I was going to burst into flames.

"Don't YOU pass your judgment until you have seen it for yourself, Kaden. I truly do appreciate you bringing me my journal and horse, but that gives you NO RIGHT to-"

Suddenly, my throat felt quite irritated and I would start to cough mid sentence. Kaden appeared worried and approached. I continued to cough like something was caught in my throat, coughing harder and harder. With a final hard cough, the irritated sensation was gone and something hit the ground.

"Goodness...I do apologize for that-"

"Skylana..." He interrupted.

"What?"

Kaden knelt down in front of me and picked up something. When I took a closer look, my eyes would widen and anger would diminish. He held a golden ring with a red gemstone, looking it over before turning to me.

"Care to explain why you coughed this up?"

"I....I don't know where that came from..." I was at a loss for words.

Something strange is going on with me. First I am found by Mirana and Marci completely naked, was covered in blood not of my own, sore from nearly head to toe, vomiting up clumps of fur and now a ring? By the Gods...what is happening..?

"Are you...doing alright?" Kaden asks.

I shook my head with an unsure look.

"I don't know...all I know is I want to go back to my home..."
