"Come again..?"

I silently nod as I could feel Slyrak writhing with annoyance.

"The Father of Fire, Slyrak. He has bound himself to me after nearly dying to the hands of the Demon."

Davion was speechless. He was trying to find the words but none would come to him. I turn back to the Moon and close my eyes. That was until I felt the Dragon Knight pulled me into a hug, holding me close to his chest.

"Please tell me that you're alright..."

I would smile and return the hug.

"I am quite fine. In actuality, his action protects us both from the beast. I don't understand how, but I have yet to see Terrorblade since he made himself comfortable."

"Thank the Gods..."

The man only tightened his embrace and refused to let go. I have not been embraced in such a way since I still lived with my Father, the safe and secure feeling began flooding back. It made me miss him dearly. If he hadn't asked me to take his place as Dragon Knight, I wouldn't have run from home. Not have learned viable life lessons, not have Slyrak inside of me. I look up at Davion.

"I have also learned a multitude of things since the last time we spoke. Oh Mene, I'm sure you won't believe the half of it."

"Oh boy, what am I in for?"

"Just listen and you shall see."

I began to explain to him what the Father of Fire had told. Terrorblade stealing me away to kill me in peace, only for Slyrak to interrupt and free me from his clutches. The fact that Aurrak knew I was in danger and desperately wanted to save my life. When both the Mother of Light and the Father of Fire both bit themselves and spilt their blood into my chest. How that when Slyrak attempted to return me to my Father, he was attacked by Dragon Knights and went on a vengeful rampage as a result.

Davion was once again silent by the end of my explanation. Only this time, I could see what looked to be tears in his eyes. Or the beginning of tears, but he would quickly blink them away.

"Oh Gods Skylana..."

"I know, it's a lot..."

The Dragon Knight only sighed and scratched behind his head.

"So that's why you're Dragon Crazy."

I playfully punch him in the arm with a chuckle. He grunted sharply and held his arm.

"GAH! Yup, okay, I definitely believe you...you weren't THAT strong before..."

"So now you understand why I love the Dragons. It is because they are quite literally a part of me. It is why I could never be a Dragon Knight..."

He cleared his throat.

"Well uh, I can't force you to do that. No one can. You're way too stubborn to let anyone force you. Not to mention you can make friends with just about anyone you meet."

I smiled.

"Almost anyone, there will always be those who are scum to the core."

"Very true."

Skylana and Davion talked late into the night, both enjoying each other's company. But little did they know, a certain mute was peeking in. Marci watched the 2 old friends converse with a large smile on her face. She would then feel a light tap on her shoulder, turning her head to see Mirana standing there.

The mute gestured for her to be quiet and pointed into the room. She looked in to see the young lady from before talking to the Dragon Knight. The Princess would simply grin and pull away.
