Chap.8 His Swiftness

Today you'd been into the city with Paimon and Aether, you went to have a visit with the young master Xingqiu who showed you the book on yourself, you were surprised by the legend and picture that was drawn, Paimon even revealed that Xiao thought you were more beautiful than the Illustration In which made you blush, you hadn't seen much of Xiao all day but you wondered where he went and if he was alright, as the days went by you felt yourself get closer and more trusting of Xiao, and It seemed you had even become fond of him, It was a little odd seeing yourself in a book but you could understand, you were one of the Yaksha who protected Liyue all those years ago alongside Rex Lapis, though It seemed you weren't famed at all unlike your fellow Yaksha, you and your friends had arrived at the Wanmin Restaurant 

and young Xiangling came to seat you three, "Welcome back! It's always so nice to see you, Traveler, Paimon and other Yaksha friend"

you smiled, "Thank you Miss Mao"

Xiangling smiled, "your welcome! just call me Xiangling, what would you like today?"

you started, "Perhaps the Crab roe Tofu"

Paimon floated upwards, "the Tianshu Meat please!"

"Okay, and Traveler?"

Aether had a look, "Just the Mora meat for me"

Xiangling smiled, "Okay! I'll have that out for you In a jiff"

she left, Paimon then floated back down onto her seat "Hey (Y/n), has Xiao told you yet?"

"hm? about what"

Paimon smiled, "about how much he lo-"

Aether stopped her "Paimon! wait, maybe she shouldn't know just yet"

Paimon then remembered, "whoops! sorry I forgot Xiao wanted to tell her himself"

you were confused, "tell me what?"

Aether smiled, "nothing, just to stay safe while you're out alone or with us"

"I see"

Paimon started to think about something else, "have you seen Zhongli lately"

you shook your head, "no it's been sometime, since I've seen his Lordship"

"you're calling him that just like Xiao, did you remember Zhongli? you do know he's a Mortal now"

you looked down, "no, and I know, but since he's the god of this region and my master I should respect him as such,"

you then started, "but whenever I'm around him, I do feel a sense of Deja Vu and a Prescence like no other that's frightening but also comforting"

Aether nodded, "that makes sense, he's an Archon after all"

just then Xiangling returned with the food and you all ate, Paimon more happily as she devoured her Tianshu Meat, and afterwards Aether paid before you left the Wanmin Restaraunt, 

and along the way you ran Into someone, It seemed Paimon and Aether knew the woman but you didn't at all, she had short black hair that was a little tilted with blue, and wore a black and blue outfit with some white furs as well, her name as Yelan apparently and she was associated with the Ministry of Civil Affairs, In which she took time to explain what that was to you as you had no Idea about the past Liyue or even the Liyue of today, after parting ways with Yelan you all walked until it was nearing sunset, so you had to bid farewell to Paimon and Aether before you headed back to the Wangshu Inn, and as you made your way back to that area It had started getting darker outside, and for some strange reason you felt like you were being watched

and you soon emerged out of the forest and saw Wangshu Inn, but then you heard the grass rustling and you turned to look, just as a Hilichurl emerged and lunged towards you 

you recoiled in fear as you scream, but then you tried to remember your training, you channeled your Cryo Vision and your tattoo glowed, your mask appeared over your face and you summoned your Ice sword starting to swing at the creature,

you then tried to remember a decent attack, you waved your sword and made Icy blades form as you sent them at the Hilichurl and It was struck down, you then panted as It seemed it was all over but then two more emerged and you let out a gasp, starting to lift your sword as you sent a wave of Cryo energy knocking one away, but then the other two swiped at you with their claws and caught you on the arm, you then started running as they gained on you 

but then you were caught by the legs, and they started dragging you backwards as you screamed but then you saw a green flash, opening your eyes to see Xiao had knocked them away, he held to his Polearm as he looked to the creatures with fury before he leapt up, spinning his polearm as he destroyed them In an instant, landing back onto the ground 

you panted, "X...Xiao..."

Xiao dispelled his mask, his face filled with worry as he came back over to your side, he saw your now bleeding arm and his brow furrowed, "are you alright"

you nodded, "yes, though this hurts a bit"

Xiao started thinking, he then bent down and picked you up into his arms bridal style, the action made you surprised and a blush came to your face, "Xiao..."

he then started walking back to Wangshu Inn with you, and as you looked at his face you felt your heartbeat start to quicken, you then tried to muster your words 

"Xiao...Thank you for saving me"

Xiao let out a sign, "It's nothing to thank me for, don't worry it'll heal up on our way"

just then you had another vision, It seemed you were once Injured and someone was carrying you to safety, but just like other times their face was blurred and It seemed like you were unable to make out who this one person was every time, you thought maybe they were Important

you looked at your arm, seeing the wound It had Icy blue and black embers emitting from It, and slowly but surely just like Xiao said the wound closed, as If It was never there.
