Chap.9 His Feelings

A Few days later...

you'd still been training with Aether, and your skills had Improved and you were able to now hold your sword firmly, as well as make some basic attacks, and you wanted to be able to keep yourself safe as not to trouble Xiao anymore, and you expressed this to Aether In which he understood, recently whenever you were training with Aether Xiao would watch from afar, and from where he saw things, It was like you'd gotten closer to Aether and also you'd physically touch more often, smiling more with him, in which made Xiao's jealousy start to appear once again but he tried to suppress It only to see green more, he knew Aether was a good person, after all he trusted the Traveler greatly but when It came to you he seemed to forget these things, Xiao didn't like how Aether held your hands or touched your waist

Xiao was leaning against a nearby tree, watching as you trained with Traveler, while Paimon was watching next to him as she was curious, Xiao crossed his arms and closed his eyes for a bit 

"Tired Xiao"

Xiao turned to the fairy, "no, I'm only resting a bit"

Paimon floated to sit on a rock, "So, when'll you tell (Y/n)"

a blush came to his cheeks, "In due time, when she'd be able to handle It"

Xiao turned back to look at you and Aether In the distance, 

"Alright, shall we trade blows today (Y/n)" said Aether

"If it's alright, then lets" you replied

Aether then took out his sword, your Cryo vision glowed and you summoned your Ice sword, your mask appeared over your face as you stood at the ready, Aether advanced on you quickly and you stepped back in surprise but quickly countered his swing 

Aether pressed forward and pushed you back, you nearly stumbled but held your ground as you pushed forward as well, successfully pushing him back but then you struck blows, the sounds of your swords filled the air, Aether did a flip and leapt up into the air using his Anemo energy 

knocking you back onto the ground, as he jumped to swipe at you but you rolled out of the way, Xiao watched your spar against the traveler, he was proud of your Improvement In combat 

 you put up a Cryo shield, and Aether struck It over and over but then you broke It, and Aether flew backwards but landed in a crouched position, you ran around him, and up from behind as you took a swipe but Aether countered It, rising onto his feet as he pushed you back and your feet slid across the grass and dirt, you had no idea that Aether was that strong, starting to doubt if you could beat him, but you looked over at Xiao, his eyes were on you, feeling a blush come to your cheeks you closed your eyes, and gathered your strength as you pushed Aether back, 

swinging at him left and right, he quickly dodged and ducked but then he caught your sword with his gloved hand, but It made his hand start to freeze so he quickly let go 

you swung your sword, and released Icy blades In which Aether dodged them skillfully, but then you leapt up and summoned your Cryo power, creating a Ice dome that covered Aether entirely In which brought Paimon onto her feet, inside the dome Aether looked around In awe but then you lifted your sword as you shattered through it, Aether fell backwards as he dodged the huge shards of ice that fell, and you soon landed on the ground as you panted

but then Aether looked up to see a shard heading your way, he leapt over and hugged you as he tumbled out of the way, and you rolled across the ground a little way

Xiao stood up straight, looking on in shock before he transported himself over to you both, only to find you In a compromising position, and somehow Aether's lips ended up against yours 

Xiao's golden eyes widened, he clenched his fists before turning around 

Aether then realized, and quickly got up "Are you alright, that was really close"

you nodded, "y...yes"

Aether held you by the shoulders as he brought you onto your feet, "I'm glad you're alright"

"Thank you Traveler"

Aether looked you over for injuries, you assured him that you were unharmed but then you noticed he had a cut on his cheek, you reached up to touch his cheek and Xiao saw this 

"Traveler, you got cut"

Xiao furrowed his brows as he then shut his eyes, he was grateful that Aether saved you but his jealousy started welling up again, and this time he couldn't hold back anymore 

"Traveler, why don't you go see to your wound" he said

"Sure, though It's not too bad"

Aether then released your hands, and started walking with Paimon flying to check on him

"Ionius, are you alright" said Xiao

you smiled, "yes, the Traveler protected me don't worry, I haven't used that much of my powers before, but I was doubting myself when I saw how strong he is"

Xiao turned and started walking away, but then you followed him "Xiao? are you alright"

he sighed, "I'm trying to be"

you went around in front of him, "I'm really alright, if you're worried about me see,"

Xiao went past you and he had a cold look In his eyes, It made you shiver and you felt your heart clench, you wanted to know what you did wrong all of a sudden 

"Xiao what's the matter, did I do something wrong? please be truthful"

you followed after him, and grabbed his hand but then he yanked free of your hold 

turning to look at you, "do you understand how long I've had to endure this, seeing you get close to traveler, how happy you look with him It's like how you used to look at...."

"how I used to what?"

Xiao let out a sigh, "Forget It, It's probably hopeless now"

you were confused, "what's hopeless Xiao?"

you were taken aback, and shocked as you watched Xiao disappear away from your sight, just as you heard a rumble of thunder roll through the sky, and you looked up as then felt a something wet drop onto your face and then it started raining, and you felt an aching course throughout your heart as you then brought your hand to the spot, just as you felt something warm slide down your cheeks and It wasn't the rain but your own tears, you didn't know why you were crying but you felt yourself getting choaked up, you started walking away out of the grassy field and away from Wangshu Inn not knowing where to go right now.
