"She is just overwhelmed". Was the first thing she heard as her ears resumed their duty. Her fingers twitched showing that her bodily movements were restoring. "I think she is waking". Natalie identified the voice as Zee's.She squeezed her eyes till she started lifting her eyelids slowly. She blinked a few times to adjust to the light. Her blurry vision cleared up and she saw Zee gazing down at her.
"What happened?" She asked holding her aching head. "You fainted", Zee disclosed, "I should have expected that this was too much for your mind". "You should have". She spat the words at him while trying to sit up.
Immediately she did, she jerked back. "Please don't hurt me!" She covered her face since the red creature was in the room staring at her. "And why would I do that?" The creature asked. "I don't know! I don't know anything anymore". Natalie complained.
It was not farfetched. This was a new side of life and it made everything before it, feel like a lie. A make belief. A farce. Natalie was not ready to accept the truth because those times felt real. Natalie hugged her legs and tugged her head in between.
She wanted Casper, her mom and her dad. She missed her room especially the shower. She missed school and those times when it made her feel important. She missed her occasional friends and she feared for them.
"Fortin, do you mind waiting for us downstairs?" Zee asked politely. Natalie heard footsteps so she assumed that Fortin was gone. "It's safe to raise your head". He told her softly. Natalie was shaking but did so with caution. She let out a sigh of relief when she discovered that the creature was gone.
"You said you were going to protect me", she accused, "then why bring me here? What are they? Did you bring me here to kill me?" "If I wanted to kill you. I would have done so in the car. Your dead body would be easier to travel with". Natalie was not happy about his answer neither did it reassure her.

Casper moved lightly. He could see a few people in the cells as they passed. Some of them could not be called people for they looked mutated. Either their skin, hair or eye was different.
Casper was pulled out of his thoughts by a commotion in the front of the queue. The person grew and grew till they were thirty feet above the cells. "Kyra". Casper gasped to himself. Kyra's mercury eyes shone as she roared. She struggled with the collar that had stretched with her growth. It gave her a huge shock that shrinked her back to size.
Casper was sure that he was definitely screwed. The cells had been built for a long time and the security was high tech. Escape seemed lethal, mental, suicidal and impossible but Casper knew he was going to attempt it because he had a lot to explain to his best friend.
His team was pushed into their cell on the left and the doors were locked electronically. Casper realized that it was a room with bunk beds. It had a small door by the side which he assumed was the bathroom and an ever locked back door.
"Excuse me?" Casper gathered courage to call the guard, "how are we supposed to shower with these collars on?" The man smirked and replied, "you have your precious showers with them. The little shocks serve as good reminders that this isn't a hotel and you're not welcomed guests".
The man laughed and stalked off. Casper rolled his eyes and looked back at his roommates who were dejected. The man was correct. They were inmates and soon-to-be test monkeys. They were not expected to live again.
"This is messed up". Casper ran his hand through his hair. "You're telling me". The red haired chuckled. His hair was long and covering half his eyes. He wore a black choker, a red devil jacket and black jeans. His combat boots were not overlooked.
