Evie and the others were hit too. "Bloody bastards!" She swore as she left the wheels. She put her upper half out the window. Evie closed her hands and a large energy ball grew. She threw it to their attackers. It hit one of them and he equally crashed into two others. "Strike!" She squealed and went back to driving. All the sounds were too much for Casper who was still recovering from Natalie's blast. "You okay there?" Alexis asked him. "Yeah. Just need the world to shut up for five minutes". He complained. "Believe me I have wished. Not happening". Alexis joked. "Does anyone have an aspirin or something?" Casper groaned again.
"Maybe I can superspeed through them again". Natalie suggested. "With that level of control", he scoffed, "forget it. I'll handle this". He gave a curt nod to Tristan. Zee vanished in his red light and Tristan was in the driver's seat seconds after. Natalie looked through the back glass to see what was happening.
Zee teleported onto one of the hunters bikes. He gave the rider a punch that sent him on a trip. Zee grabbed the gears and aimed for the remaining. He drove to one on the left and was trying to knock him off course. "Bartin, can you make yourself a little more useful?" Natalie gritted her teeth.
Bartin shifted into a dodgeball. "I'm gonna imagine that it's Coach Scruffins' face". She smiled to herself. She sat on the window and looked for a target. Tristan made a sharp left in the moment but Natalie was lucky to have held on. "Try not to kill me, will you Tristan?!" She full on sassed.
Natalie threw Bartin and it hit one of the hunters square in the chest. The rider tumbled off his bike. The rogue bike drove off the road into a fire hydrant. Bartin shifted midair and safely stuck to the ground as chewing gum. Natalie was worried but he could turn into anything. They would find him.
She climbed into her seat again. She peeked at the red Ford. Alexis had joined his sister with blasting energy balls. Some of their missed hits stuck the road, streetlights and chirped off a couple buildings. "This is insane". Natalie massaged her temples.
Zee knocked the last hunter off and teleported back. "They won't stop coming". He declared. "I think we already got that one noted". Natalie gave him a sharp head shake. Tristan was still on high speed but at least, he's crazy maneuvers were over.
The cars parked in front of Casper's house. Zee scanned the neighborhood. It was oddly quiet considering all the craziness as of late. "There's a forcefield". Casper blurted. He wanted to slap his mouth because he didn't know how those words came out.
Moss stretched his hand and was met with a translucent wall. "She's inside". Moss frowned. Evie groaned dramatically and said, "I'd rather face a hoard of hunters again". "I agree and that is saying a lot". Alexis also wore an annoyed look. "Who's inside?" Natalie quipped. "You'll see". Moss answered.
Zee called Fiona. The translucent wall faded enough for seven of them to enter. The wall went back up immediately. Natalie was slightly hesitate to enter a place she called her second home. Something was different and by something, she meant the truth of it.
Fiona Morris's ever cheerful face greeted them. Natalie always felt she was loony but in a harmless way. She was sure Fiona wasn't as harmless as she had assumed. "I am so glad you are safe", Fiona hugged her, "and I'm sorry about Daisy". "How did..." Natalie trailed off. Fiona just gave a small smile.
"My baby!" She cooed over Casper, "what's wrong? Did you hit your head?" "Mom, you're legit embarrassing me", Casper rolled his eyes, "especially now that I know, I'm not actually a teenager". "You'll always be my baby boy". Fiona kissed both his cheeks.
Fiona addressed the adults with simple nods. Her playful attitude was just gone in a snap. She ushered them into the a spare room beside the backdoor. Natalie saw that a woman was waiting for them. She was dressed in a black pencil skirt, white dress shirt and a black blazer. Her skin was the color of cocoa and her thick hair was straightened in a center parting.
