Natalie felt as if the world should just stop for a second. She could not believe it. These were people who had always been there for her. They were mom and dad. The ones who taught her her first words, how to ride a bike and how to know who to call family.

"You're lying", she shook her head, "they wouldn't lie to me". "They lied to keep you safe". Zee again tried to keep her calm. "No!" She argued, "you don't lie to family! What did they think was going to happen? That I would run off to look for some mysterious planet that is probably in another galaxy?!"

"Calm down, kid. Let him speak". The friendly redskin guy said. Natalie looked Zee in the eyes. "You tell me everything and you had better not lie", she warned, "or I promise, you'll never find me". "Understood". Zee nodded.

Zee was about to talk when a lady with antlers ran in. "Zarphon, we have a problem". She announced. "How bad?" He asked. She looked around. Once her eyes spotted Natalie, she blinked three times at Zee. The man widened his eyes and followed the lady.

"What was that all about?" Natalie asked an equally confused Fortin. "I hope it is nothing serious". Fortin whispered to himself. Natalie tapped her foot impatiently. She was counting numbers backwards to avoid her mind running places.

Zee came out some minutes later. "What..." "We have to go now!" He cut her off. "No way! You promised me answers". Natalie snatched her hand back.  "Natalie, this is not the time for tantrums", Zee glared at her, "we have to get you out of here".

Natalie stepped back. Her face was radiating anger. "I warned you that if you give me anything less than the truth you're never gonna see me". With that, a blue light covered her. "Natalie!" Zee yelled but it was too late.

"This is all my fault. I should never have mentioned anything but would it be so bad if you told her your suspicions" Fortin asked. "Yeah", Bartin who had teased Natalie earlier, "you know how stubborn Anofemalies can be". "It is not that easy", Zee crossed his arms, "she is not ready for what awaits her".

"And she never will be if you keep pushing her away". Fortin argued.

"Besides, she spent her life as a human. They tend to be emotional". Bartin rolled his eyes.

Zee sighed. "I'll find her but for now, you all have to cloak the house. They might be on their way here". Zee stepped aside and teleported.

Natalie appeared in her room. She had expected it to be just like she left it but it was a mess. Her bed was flipped over, all her clothes were on the ground and her drawers had be turned. Someone had come looking for her.

Natalie opened her room door slowly. She peeked but no one was in the hallway. She trained her ears for sounds. A familiar clank of heels was heard.

Natalie wanted to run out there but she remembered what Zee said about them being human. Zee trusted them but she couldn't. They lied to her. Her entire life had been a lie. And it was pretty suspicious for two humans to open their arms wide for an alien child with nothing in return.

Natalie made her steps light as she crept outside. The noise from downstairs was louder. Natalie walked to the railings carefully.

Downstairs was filled with large computers and medical equipment. She could see a few people dressed in lab coats working on the computers. Natalie did not understand how but she was able to see the screen.

It was an inventory on list of infected persons. What are they doing with that? She asked herself. "How far have we covered?" Daisy asked joining the others in the room. Natalie quickly covered her mouth and hid.

"We've searched about half of them from the previous years, ma'am", the worker answered, "it is still negatory". "What about those that were captured today?" Daisy questioned. "A full file has not be made yet. If I were to search, it would be a huge pile of haystacks".
