Natalie hummed 'Beliver' by Imagine Dragons as she folded more clothes into the bag. "Good to know you're still singing". Casper teased as he walked in with donuts. "Do they..." "Yes. It's in the whipped cream". He answered her obvious question on the subject of Uliac. She moaned after the first bite. "That is something that I am going to miss". She wiped the cream from the side of her mouth. "Me too", Casper agreed, "but we'll come back home". "Of course. We'll always come back home". She nodded.
Just then, her phone started ringing. She took a look at the caller id and rolled her eyes. She declined the call and went back to snacking. "I think it's about time you let it go". Casper gave her a face. "No!" She frowned, "I'm not gonna let it go".
Natalie's good mood was ruined by the sore subject.
The fight with The Gladiator happened three months ago according to Earth time. Natalie and the crew landed beside the warehouse and it caused panic. Panic than normal. Natalie was confused because she knew that the humans had already seen the ships before.
That was until she spoke to Zee. Zee, Evie and Fortin had used the remains of the tools in the camp and Casper's genetic codes to create a memory wiper that removed all form of alien related people and actions from the minds of the humans thus returning Boshville to its plain old self.
Natalie got into a huge argument with Zee about how his actions were selfish. She knew that being exposed was a danger to their kind but she wasn't happy with humans having to lose a part of themselves. Casper and Moss's relationship would never be the same because of Casper's lost memories and she didn't want the same for others. She had refused to speak to him ever since.
"Look, Natalie", Casper began, "I just want you to have a look at it from this angle. He became a father and he wanted to do everything to protect his child even if it meant sacrificing a few happy memories. Besides, the humans don't have to live in fear of the unknown anymore. They don't always have to watch over their shoulders because a shape shifting alien might be near by".
"I may agree that his intentions were good", Natalie sighed, "but this was their lives. It wasn't his call to make. What if the humans were gonna accept the change?" "Yeah, accept it and join the hoard of scientists to make us experiments". Casper rolled his eyes.
There was a brief silence. It was broken by Natalie's phone. She wanted to turn it off but it was Tristan. "If you're calling to defend Zee, don't bother". She snapped as soon as she picked. "And hello to you too", Tristan returned her attitude, "guess I can't call my neice anymore". "Don't be like that. I'm sorry".
"You better be. And you know I didn't support Zarphon especially when he's trying to use our baby as an excuse".
"Yeah. You mentioned it".
"Anyway, I know your bus leaves in forty-five minutes. I hope you weren't planning on not saying bye to your cousin".
Natalie face palmed herself. She actually forgot. "Of course I wasn't", she lied, "how can I miss a chance to tickle that cute angel till who knows when?" "Oh really? Then why aren't you here right now?" Natalie made hand signals for Casper to come closer. She held him and teleported right behind Tristan. "I don't know what you're saying 'cause I'm right here". She replied into the phone.
Tristan removed the device from his ear and hugged her. "You totally forgot, didn't you?" He raised his eyebrows. "In my defense, I have to go upstairs now". She zoomed off. Natalie creaked the door just in case her cousin was asleep.
The baby babbled as soon her face came into view. "You're still awake, you little troublemaker". Sge cooed and went to the cot. "Who's a cute little baby? You are! Yes, you are". She continued in her baby voice.
